Alright here we go:

Date: July 29th.

Meet-up place:
- Large parking lot off Herman road in Benicia..

Meet-up time and Departure:

- 11:45 and leave betwen 12:30 and 1:00 p.m.

Route: (note we are NOT going into SF. There is a Giants game on that day. We don't want Bay Area traffic)

- there is a large parking lot that overlooks the Naval base there.
- I'm not sure if any of the Naval base is open itself but we could definitely take some pictures up there.

Here are some pics of the area:

 -
 -

2nd part:

- this is where it may get a little confusing but bear with me.

- From there we head to Half Moon Bay.

- Head down 680 to Dublin.

- At Dublin we take 580 over to 880

- Then 880 down to Highway 92 across the San Mateo Bridge

- 92 follows all the way into Half Moon Bay where we can sprint down highway 1 in either direction.

- That will take us about another 1 to 1.5 hour to get there. Which should put us around 2:30 to 3:00 p.m.

- Then it's Lunch time

- After that Everyone is welcome to do as they please or get lunch with a group of us or by themselves.

[size=18]IF ANYONE HAS A DIFFERENT IDEA, PLEASE POST UP. BUT REMEMBER, TRAFFIC WILL BE SHITTY AROUND SF BECAUSE OF THE GIANTS GAME AT HOME. I CAN CHANGE THE FORM NOW UP TO THE END OF NEXT WEEK IS THE DEADLINE.[/size]

oh and here's a .gif for your viewing pleasure

[size=18]Attending List: (SacPower and SacFbodyz invited - anticipated 40-50 cars)

Thanx Jordan for spearheadin' this [patriot]

I think we should stay with your orignial plan and don't deviate if at all possible. The route you chose is a good one and will provide us with a good cruise. The potential for absolutely killer weather in HMB/Santa Cruz is high in late July.

I know several restaurants down there that could accomodate a large group and I'll use my mad searchin' skills to find a spot along the beach to get some pics of our cars enjoying the surf [Big Grin] .

For those of you who always play the "I gotta work that day" card, this is over a month away...get it off and join your Stang buddies [Razz] [Wink]

Rick

edit: I'll come up with a Bay Area Meeting Spot once I see who's coming and from where.

sooo...you already have it done????

don't put out numbers until it's actually done....

but it should run well...not denying that...

but you have a lot of work ahead you to get it done n 3 weeks...i hope you have it ready by then...I'd love to see it on the cruise either with or without the setup....

We'll defiantly play it by ear to see how much I can get done by the time the cruise arrives. Im taking some time off work to actually get this done (vacations hours). Either way it will be there regardless. What a fully blown HCI 95 cobra putting to the wheels these days?

I hope so....or you'll have to ride bitch with someone ...lol...

hope to dyno it in a week or 2...I'll probably have to de-tune to avoid breaking the block....so probably 520-530....around there....

Sounds nice. Maybe when I throw a blower on mine and making some where around 650 to the wheels i'll stand a chance.

I hear all kinds of stories...from what i remember it's right around 600RW but there are some rare cases where power has been up around 650RW without breaking...

The cruise is starting in Sacramento. Jordan0806 is the organizer up there. They'll cruise from Sac at a designated time down to Benicia. I believe they're stopping at Lake Herman Rd off of 680 near the Moth Ball Fleet. From there they're gonna cruise down through the Dublin area. I'm gonna set up a meeting spot soon in a centrally located area around there based on which geographical area represents the most Stangs attending. I'm still gonna wait another week or so to determine that location. It will probably be near Dublin is my guess. From there we will then go to HMB via hwy 92. Santa Cruz is nearby and we can decide as a group if we wanna take the hwy 1 coast drive. Some may wanna turn around and go home, some may wanna cruise to SC. This is a LONG cruise so people may have different agendas after luch in HMB. I personally vote for continuing to SC but we'll see. You can check out the original post and hopefully this fills in some blanks for ya [patriot] .

Jordan, speak up if I'm incorrect.

Ok, I understand. My only concern would be that we'd need one more spot to meet closer to the east bay. I would be concerned that South bay/SJ guys won't wanna drive an hour+ to Benicia just to turn around and drive right by their houses enroute to HMB. Perhaps, just a thought, we should consider one more quick stop near Dublin/Hayward/Pleasanton area to accomodate them. I understand that there is a schedule to keep so if it can't work out that way, so be it. Lemme know, aiiight...I'm good either way. [patriot]

[patriot]
Just tell the East bay guys that the Sac guys are driving an hour to meet up in Benicia as well...lol...

We could probably figure out some 2nd stop along the way...you see the route that I'm going, let me know the best place to stop along that way and we could try and do something there.....it might seem more appealing too.

i along with 10 other cars have been looking to attend another cruise since we attended the last gallop around the bay and the last HMB cruise. but were also concered about driving over 1 hr to benica to just turn back around toward were we cam from (me plus 10 other cars are comming from the 650) it be helpfull to have a meeting place closer, maybe hayward area?? then we might be more motivated and less tired to continue to santa cruz...... just a thought for me and the southbay people

I agree with you but I'd really like to prevent TOO many stops along the way...

there will be a nice group from Sac riding up and it takes us and hour JUST to get to Benicia...then we have a 2 hour drive from HMB to get back....

If you just go to HMB it might not be like a cruise at all....

Ok, check it out.

We'll have ONE(1) stop only after Benicia in Pleasanton. As Jordan said, we can't have a busload of stops. I'm thinkin' in the Stoneridge Mall Lot. It's centrally located for all bay Stangs, right off of the freeway(Stoneridge Dr) at the 580/680 interchange, so we'll have easy access back to the freeways. It's right on the way, also. We used this lot for a meeting place for the Gallop and it seemed to work well. So, unless anyone has any major objections to this, let's confirm it and make it happen...we're down to like 2.5 weeks...we can't be unclear at this point. [patriot]

We will meet in the Stoneridge Mall lot on the side facing the freeway(680)...across the street from the Fire Station...can't miss it.

Let's meet at 12:30 pm. That'll give us enough time to meet up/stragglers before the procession arrives [patriot]

*****UPDATE********

So all of the Stangs that are not meeting up in Sacramento or Benicia, we will be meeting in the Macy's parking lot at Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton @ 12:30pm. This lot faces the freeway(680). Do not be late, this is a long trip for some and we don't wanna hold up the cruise [patriot]

From SJ, head North on 680, exit Stoneridge Dr, go left at the light, back over the overpass, make a right at the first light, pass the Fire Station, make a left at the next light and into the lot right there....easy [Big Grin]

Anyone needing more info regarding this meeting spot can pm me. [burnout]

I was thinking we could all eat at the Marina near Mavericks. There's several restaurants right there on the water.

Posted by cummins (Member # 5931) on :

The best chill place to eat near Mavericks is the Brewery. Lots of outside parking and they have outside seating and a decent a bar. Here's a link to their site

http://www.hmbbrewingco.com/index.php

And the best chill place to eat south of hwy 92 is Camerons they also have a good bar but the parking lot isn't that big. But it shouldn't be a problem at that time of day. Here's a link to Camerons

Gentlemen, I regret that I won't be able to make the cruise on the 29th. I will be attending the funeral for one of the fallen firefighters from Contra Costa County. His name is Scott Desmond, a fellow fireman, a dear friend of mine who'll be sorely and dearly missed [Frown] [patriot] .

You guys have fun and please be safe. I'll catch the next one.

BTW: Someone's gonna have to step up and handle the Stoneridge Mall meeting spot.

I know we are planning to go san mateo bridge over to half moon bay and ending there, but that seems kind of boring.
How about if we head down 35 and cut across through some of the backroads to the coast then come back up Hwy 1

If y'all like some twisties and a lil mountain runs you could go 92 to 280 south and get off on Woodside Rd. Then take 84 all the way in to San Gregorio then head up hwy 1 to HMB. This is part of a route us supra peeps take when we go cruising.

I'm thinking skylinbe south instead of 280, then cutting over to the coast. A couple of different options for that

Are you thinking of going through Kings Mountain? Taking 35 at the top of 92 next to the cemetery then cutting over to 84 and go to the coast? Nice drive too. Either would be fun.

yeah, theres a couple of options off 35 we could take. Would definitely be more fun than all the freeway driving. I think everyone will enjoy the twisties and nice scenery there too.

Ya the twisties are always fun. 280 is a nice hwy but it also has had a LOT of chp lately so you gotta be careful. Well I had the car aligned and on the trailer ready to go but hell I got some vip hospitality tickets to the Autolite nationals. So unloaded the car and put it back in the garage. I can't pass up the opportunity to go the nationals and see the big dogs run.

[burnout]

For everyone meeting at Stoneridge...hold off on leaving until 1:15 or 1:30....

I'll be diverting the group to there and we'll be able to ALL cruise from there....

The group meeting in Benicia will be meeting up with everyone @ Stoneridge as well....

Well the only good thing I can say about this cruise was it had a good turnout. But just like the Gallop, it was a clusterf**k!!!! The only part of the cruise that seemed organized was from Benicia to Stoneridge we had all the Stangs in formation. But from Stoneridge to HMB, it was way too spread out & unorganized.

IMO the only time I had fun was once we left the vistapoint up hwy 35, through the twisties. My solid axle stang hung with the C5 vette & Z06 pretty damn well through the twisties I must say!!!! Too bad after this point the rest of the pack left me behind as I walked to my car, which I thought was kinda f'd up especially since I had no idea how to get to HMB from there, & I didnt see what direction everyone went.

After this I had no choice but to turn around & go home solo. Thanks to the organizers 4 putin this together anyway though, & better luck next time....

It was pretty confusing from stoneridge-no doubt about that. There were a lot of cars to keep track of and a lot of lights and things to get caught at. I got appointed lead car at the last minute. We tried to go real slow to let everyone catch up, but some people prolly made some wrong turns.
I know it sucked getting left at 4 corners. I think some of us got freaked out by the CHP. It looked like he was out there to meet a quota and wanted to ticket everyone who was there. So some people weren't waiting to be next on the ticket list. If you would have known the way it would have been easy to catch up as we only went about 35 to 40 mph to the coast.
If this ever gets set up again I would be willing to get involved and help set it up as I have led a lot of cruises before. Those usually have maps, directions, meet up points, cell phone numbers etc.
On the other hand I must say it was a very impressive turn out at stoneridge. Did anyone get any pics or a count? A lot oif nice cars and a good mix of ford and chevy. It seems almost everyone made a great effort not to act up and keep the group together. I met some new people today and hope to cruise with everyone again, maybe with a little bit better organization.

Cruise was fun interesting. A little disappointed that "Stang Up Fam", a few other mustangs and a camero was left at the gas station with no notification. Other than that, the ride out was cool. We navigated our way to Half Moon Bay and hung there for a little bit, then turned the search into our own cruise since we were 13 deep ourselves. Thanks for posting the ride out and can't wait for the next one.

Sorry that we left others behind...

I was surprised to see that you guys didn't follow...

I personally got freaked out by the CHP myself because I had one of the loudest cars there...

Epic(dustin).. real sorry about that bro..for some reason I thought you were right behind us or I would have waited....I waited for everyone at everypoint in the leg....it was tough from the Mall over though because of the amount of cars

it was definitely a fun and interesting cruise...too bad some people broke down though....

the white 03/04 cobra was a friend of mine's...he just bought it off another friend of mine about a week ago...it's a Jeff S. tuned car....

Thanks to Kevin---blown Viper--- for helping with the 3rd leg of the run....we counted 64 at Stone RidgeI wish more could have followed us in but there was a dickhead cop who stopped one of guys anyways.....just to be a dick....

Stang Up Fam...thanks for showing up in force guys....besides the Nascar "tire warming" action in the middle of the highway...you guys seemed pretty chill and had a decent sized group of 4.6's....

Yeah, I gotta say that the stangup family conducted themselves pretty well for the most part and was real good about trying to keep the group together.
I felt bad we left them but I have learned from the many car cruises I've organized that if one car gets pulled over, everyone else should leave them. I know that sounds bad but if that one is getting a ticket and if everyone waits, it's highly likely the cop will fill his quota of tickets for the week with everyone already stopped. If I got pulled over myself, I would hope everyone just goes because there's no sense in them getting a ticket with me.
What we should have done was exchange numbers so the people left behind could have caught up.
All in all-room for improvement, but still a great time with all the car people and I hope we do it again soon.

you mean like when the San Mateo sheriff threatened to ticket us all and ended up pulling one of us over anyways?

I was thinking of doing a short run to Hot August nights on Saturday...

but I'm too tired to think of anything else right now....lol

exactly!
that sheriff was an ass.
First we comply and leave, then he pulls someone over anyways.
I saw him on my way home going the opposite direction. He looked at me like I was the big fish that got away.
BTW there a few pix on the corvette forum.
Anyone posting pix here?

lol the team was getting bored and sleepy, not all of us had a passenger so we decided to have a little fun and wake people up! a little attention catching swerving never hurt anyone and the minivan that joined in had a blast also!

also it looks pretty cool when you get enough cars to join the line. shouts out to the black ws6 and the minivan that joined in.

Is this Reid with the old school Maro? If so, thanks for loaning me the power steering fluid bro I appreciate it [Big Grin] ..I ended up going to Kragens and picking up some hi-temp silicone gasket maker, some shop towels, brake cleaner and electric tape and ghetto rigged a patch for my rack and pinion and I made it all the way home. I only had to fill it once and when i got home it hardly leaked any of it out, I should leave it like that [Big Grin] ..Let me know and I'll shoot your fluid back to you.

Hot August Night is not that far away...

I usually go up Saturday....meet up with Brand Young and roam the streets....

last year kind of sucked during the day though...most of the cars were 84 Caprices on 26's....

What company do you go through that gives you that 100 mile towing. I'm looking to buy some kind of plan like that. How much does it cost monthly?

Fox bodies aren't considered mustangs anymore? In that case we should break it down alittle more. Honestly I think there were a few more GM's then Fords. But none the less it doesn't matter and it was good times.
