Need to do something about that 64-93 class. Way too many cars. Needs to be broken up. There are other classes that usually have one or two cars that need to be combined.

I'm sure as in previous years that if you get enough cars to pre-reg in a class, they will break that class up.

Last two years they didn't, yet they still bring back these other classes that have one or two entries. Why aren't those combined?

Because there were not enough pre-registered cars in those classes, most of those showed up and paid during the day of the show. Without enough pre-registered cars there is no way of knowing how many cars will show up in a specific class, so there is no way of knowing to split the class, and since they have to order the trophys early, the decision to split the class has to happen before the trophys are ordered.

So unless you pre-register and get enough people to pre-register, classes stay at the base list.

Past history shows that a few of the classes have 0-2 enteries. Example V6 class or 94-98 GT class. Some of these classes could be combined based on the past history. Yet knowing this they are still not combined.

The old school Mustangs need their own class and so do the Foxes. The Fox class seemed to be the largest last year.

If you get enough cars to pre-register, then I have no problem asking 9cobra8 to split the class.

btw, I don't dispute what cars have shown up the past couple of years, and the demographics of this board has changed since this show was started. But any attempt on the organizers part to guess what cars will show up has not been all to successful, that is why your best bet to split any class is to pre-register.

Yikes, looks like all 3 of my cars would end up in the same class!

    93 Cobra
    90 GT
    67 GT

    !!!

Hey, when are you guys going to start using paypal for the show reg fee?

    Posted by 9COBRA8 (Member # 6) on :

I think we will be getting a lot more pre-reg this year than in previous years so breaking up the old school classes is very likely to come very soon before the show begins! [Wink]

I want you all to have fun and not feel bummed by the uneven classes. Like S281Cobra said, its hard to guess but we can put a smile on your face by making some changes. [Big Grin] This show is for you all!

Thanks, we got both registrations and fixed the typo in the post-payment page.

Your 67 will have its own class!

    A: 64-78 Mustang
    B: 79-93 Mustang

We still have to decide weather to lump the 93 Cobras with the Fox Bodies or the 94-98 Cobras. Leaning towards fox bodies.

Hey Bill, missed your post the first time around. Thank's for helping spread the word! Usually people driving from distances like Sacramento, Sonoma and the Central Valley setup a local meeting point, post the location here and cruise up to the show together as a group. We've even had cars drive up all the way from LA to attend this show [Smile]

There is usually a meeting spot posted a few days before the show. I think it was at an in-n-out burger last year.

Hot August Nights has been gathering the 22" rims pimps and ho's crowd the past few years, but some elements of it are still true to its heritage. Setup a meeting spot for the Sacramento folks. We've had about half a dozen people coming down from Sac ask us where the meeting spot is going to be for those making the drive to Hayward from Sac on August 11th.

I will be trailering my car, and in my trailer is a 6500W generator. If no one else has one, mine is available... but it is mounted in my trailer, so parking may be something to deal with.

Let me know if you need it, and what we can do.

Good to hear you all will be showing up. In the past few years we have been getting more and more various Fords showing up. Thunderbirds, Lincolns, Cobra Kit cars, vintage Mustangs, etc.

Even if you don't think your car is a show winner, we encourage everyone to enter their car into the show. It helps keep CAFords going as a great service to the community.

Great show, nice cars & people...I had a good time. Thanks to everyone for voting for my 03 Mach (2nd place). I didnt even plan on entering my car until I got there....

I must say I was a bit disappointed that Streakmatt's fox didnt get voted in the top 3 in the 79-93 catagory...It was by far one of the cleanest fox bodys at the show....

    Here is my 03 Mach...

I'd really like to thank DJ EMVY for coming out. Great guy, large mix of different music and played just about everything that was requested on the "music at the show post".

Also, all the members should be thanked...I heard this year was the largest turn out.

I was there from 12-1:45. I met you and JohnB since you were parked close to each other. I did introduce myself and I thought you would have recognized me from my pictures on here.

Oh and in regards to the DJ, he did pretty well except for playing Sweet Home Alabama! LOL!!

Since only the people who are entered in the show can vote "it is what it is". It's not really a full out car show as much as an annual meet for member's to meet new people and catch up with old friend's.

& when they anounced the winners, they shouldve said what car was theres too. Which saleen was yours??

BTW!!! My Mach 1 2nd place plaque is spelled "March 1", not Mach 1. Did they not proofread the plaques first???

At least you placed. I've been "hosed" the last two years. This year with the Grande and last year with my '89 GT. My GT has won best of show at three large Mustang Shows and lost only one point in the recent Mustang Club of America Show in Concord that used judges. The Grande has won two Golds in the Concours class at recent MCA shows and 1st Place at all the other local Mustang Shows.

When it comes to People's Choice shows it is what it is.

The show was great. Lots of good cars and good people. Props to the organizers. I've been to the show a few times but this was my first time entering. Congratulations to everyone that placed and won an award. I entered not expecting anything and just to have fun and meet and greet other Ford/Mustang enthusiasts. Big thank you goes out to the Moderators. I am looking forward to the next show.

Especially since the average age of the crowd was probably mid 20's and likely to favor late model stuff, especially modded.

I honestly didnt even plan on being in the show, but when I got there I said what the hell.....Luckily my car was cleaned up, but i could've did a better job. That bullit was so clean it didnt even look like he drove it...Even the engine bay paint looked waxed [worship] [worship]

I was very satisfied with 2nd in my class, since my cars not even a show car. I dont even have a garage to park it in....

Im in my late 20's, but i appreciate all body style Mustangs, modded & unmodded...The 69 Dark Jade Mach 1 was my favorite classic mustang there.... & the black Fox body Saleen & the S351 Saleen were my favorite later models....

I would tend to agree with all of your choices, but I'd bet that a lot of the people there typically favor the late model stuff. I thought that black jade '69 Mach 1 was a shoe in for best of show.
