Gallop Around the Bay III
All responsibly driven Mustangs(only)are invited

This is a multi club Mustang event that I have put on for a couple of years.

It has been very successful and very safe.
Let's keep it that way.

We will be starting at

7777 Gateway Blvd.
Newark

Corner of Gateway Blvd and Jarvis Ave.

Meet and Greet from 10-12.
Cruise out at NOON!

From 880 to 84 Westbound. Take the Thorton Ave Exit .
Turn left over the highway.
Turn left onto Gateway Blvd (1st left)

First light turn left into the Parking lot.

We'll be going across the DumbartonBridge Westbound
North on 101
Across San Mateo Bridge continue on to 92 to watkins & Mission Blvd to the downtown parking lot

there are about 10 eateries within walking distance.

I have over 200 Mustangs promising to attend.

This is about an hour. it was really hard to keep that many mustangs together.

Please do not go into the "hill" areas of SF. I hate driving stick and looking at the sky on some of those inclines.

I tried to make my first gallop last year but i was stuck at work and couldn;t get out of it. This year I keep that day clear in advance and will go with about 5 other mustang buddies. [patriot]

Sounds good to me. Theres alot of room there so it shouldn't be a problem. Hopefully all the Sac-town heads know where it is. Yeah this will be the 3rd year in a row that my car has been in the shop right before the Gallop. 1st year I got it back on the Friday afternoon before the Gallop due to the dealership didn't realize that the '05's had two fuel sendors. so, when it went out they ordered one. got the part adn tore into the tank to discover they were both fried. and the second was put on back order. Little nervous then.

My hopefully goes in the paint shop next month.

I am new to the area. I've been on this site a while, but I am moving back FINALLY. Id like to meet up some people and get to make some new friends. I may not have either of my Mustangs back in town, but I can drive my dad's 99L. It's sorta cool at least... [Embarrassed]

Ca-fords do you guys have a banner!? Bring it!

When we take the big group photo, I want all club/organizations showing which clubs came this year.

So far I've got CA-Mustangs, KoolStangs Network and GHMC saying they'll bring their banners.

I'd ask that banners not be on display during the meet and greet. This is a herd of mustang lovers enjoying their passion, not meeting of this group and that group.

I know the Dumbarton, & San Mateo bridges are nowhere near the connector ramp that collapsed, but is this expected to affect the cruise because of more people avoiding the Bay Bridge & using those instead?

Thanks for bringing that up.

There is no way that the collapse will effect us for the Gallop.

we are really in the south bay and won't be affected by traffic avoiding the collapse.

Cool...I guess everyone coming from outside the Bay will have to remember to avoid that area if possible. Since Im coming from Sacramento, Im gonna take i-5, to 205, to 580, then 880. Or 80 to 680.

Why dont the SACRAMENTO people meet at the new IKEA in west sac. Theres a huge parking lot and the 80 west freeway entrance is right there, also there is Shell and Mcdonals to gas up and eat if you need to. Let me know what you guys think about that meet spot?..............

That would be a great spot because its on the way out of town so those of us who dont live in eastern Sac dont have to drive out of the way to meet up. Plus everyone from Sac is gonna pass by it anyway.

The Limit. We have several classics and some just can't exceed it.

Remember we cruise at the top speed of our slowest vehicle. Which is usually right behind me.

Not that i have anything to do with this, but I noticed you were meeting in Newark. It looks to be a big event-do you think you will have issues with that cop named rosetti? From what i heard he would be a big PIA to you guys. Maybe Union city landing would be a better spot for all of you. Thee seems to be a fair sized parking lot across the street from in and out burger.

I'm not all that worried. We are not doing anything illegal. All we're doin is parking and driving. Responsibly. We will only be on citty streets for about 1/2 miles while we get on the freeway. and then boom, it's onto the bridge.

Well....since there are about 7 clubs and organizations coming i think we'll decide that before we leave Fremont. Use the channel that you normally use on the way down. I'll ask around if there was much cross traffic on individual channels. Then we'll decide.

Why was I so unaware about this cruise today? I guess is my bad since I don't really go to upcoming events/cruise thread. It's 1:30pm right now and I'll just see if I can catch anyone at downtown Hayward since I guess that's where the cruise ends. If not, I'll try again next time.

I want to thank everyone that came out. it was a pretty awesome gathering.. i honestly expected only about 100 to show. the cruise was amazing, sorry about thesmall spaced out packs.

Even seeing all the mustangs taking over the parking garage was awesome.

I will gather all pics and vids from various websites and post them under one thread.

I want to thank everyone for picking up their own trash at the start spot. When my wife and I back to do clean up we were really impressed that there was very little to pick up. Not even sure it was ours.

Good thing I went back, I guess I had left my "Mustangs Only Parking" sign in tree.

No it didnt change, but we all ended up directly across the street @ chevron. I got there about 7:25, & I pumped gas. Everybody else showed up shortly after. If you where there @ the park & ride, u couldnt miss us. Did u not stick around for a few minutes? Anyway, sorry u missed us, because the more the merrier. What were u driving?

Thanks rick for organizing our pre-gallop meet. I thought this was the best part of the day when we rode out from Pleasanton, deep, & in one heard. Hope to c yall next Gallop, or @ other upcoming events...i will stay in contact

Your right...It was in there 4 a split second, but it was when i was parking & some1 was standing in front of it. I didnt really see any good shots of any of the sac guys rides, except the red 93 Cobra. The red one waiting to get in the parking lot looked stock, so it wasnt mine, if thats the one u mean

The GTG was great, but, unfortunatly the cruise was crap. I think it would have been better to roll to highway 1 along the coast. All we did was go over 2 bridges and it was only about 40 minutes long and had to pay 4 bucks.

I think it will be better next year. Each year it's gotten bigger, better, and a bit more organized. IT's kinda like a learn as ya go type thing, unfortunately. yes it was a little short this year.

I knew(felt) the turn out would be insane. therefore I shortened the route so that we could stay together.

both times that I had scoped out the route the toll plaza had 4 lanes open. and for some reason they only had 3 open, and a problem with the one on the left.

the plan was to hold up and wait for the pack to catch up on the frontage road, like we have done in years past. I felt for the safety of all those in the line and those specatating the unlawfull extra curricalar activities it was best if the gallop left and jumped on 101. I would rather had us be split up and drive in small packs then watch all 144 mustangs be impounded into the Menlo Park police lot.

I have already started planning on next year's route, start and stop points. It will be longer and it will have a purpose. I believe that the Gallop has developed enough of a following that we could be doing something productive with all the individuals that do participate.

I want to thank all California Fords members for attending this year. And look for early updates for Gallop 4.

Same here....We need to get something like this monthly or at least a few times a year. Just needs to be a longer cruise next time. I think the whole toll plaza thing kinda f'd it up too because it got too separated.

gtg. One person metioned and the cruise is a

learn as you go thing. In 99-2002 when it was

98cobra.com we would go through the hills in the

east bay and it was a blast except for 1 or 2

people that thought they had show off . Maby we

can bring somethink like that back.

I dont think we could all cruise together unelss we had a police escort. If youve ever been on a sac to the bay motorcycle ride its police escort. The cops block off street and escort the bikes down the fast lane on the freeway.
