it started back up again. every friday howies sandwiches in hillcrest shopping center has a small neigborhood gtg. its nothing big. the most cars ive seen there at once was maybe 40. anyway its a cool place to go. if you show your car, then you get a free soda w/refills, $1.00 off any sandwich. if you enter in the raffle, you can win some small prizes. sometimes its a small drill bit set, sometimes its pies, it varys. at the end of the gtg, they hold a 50/50. they keep one of the 2 bucks that you bought the ticket for, and the other one goes into a pot. if your tickets drawn then you could win some cash.
-its free to show your car
-raffle tickets are 2 bucks
-it usally starts around 5:00pm and goes to it gets dark.
last time there where only 2 mustangs there (myself included). the f-bodys have a pretty good showing every friday. we need to get some more fords out there! i show up every friday to represent the fox3's but i know we could get a better representation going. its mostly older cars and trucks but there are some newer cars here and there.

if you want more info and a definate directions and a street address, let me know. im gonna be there every friday.

(btw-this is phill, martinez, concord, walnut creek, general area. its not far from san ramon or anyplace that can hop on 24 west. oh and this goes untill the end of september so theres plenty of time to check it out.)

Thats correct. I live about 20 seconds from there. All of you should come out. Its a ton of fu and there are a lot of cars out there. There are good places to eat too.

btw- 1sicgrngt-what part of phill are you from? i lived there for 15 years. i used to live on phill road next to that 'sisters of the holy family'. its a house for religous sisters if that makes sense.

I know where you were at brotha! Im at Westover and phill rd. Next to Mangenies farm basictly. Thats hella cool. ill see ya there in a few friday. ive peobably met you before if you have been there before.

Its cool guys. its nice out. free soda and great food. just bring a chair and chill. no hating at all. great people, mainly from 18-70yrs old. You would be suprised at what these old guys drive. Supercharged LS1's Shelby Cobras. There great people, and they are all down to earth. Yo all will have fun. BTW the warmer it gets, the more people will be there.

last friday there was 2 ls1's there that where awesome. one was a 2000 with about 400hp and his wife was driving a 2002. they were like 70's. it was very kool talking to that guy.

i wish i could. but its to far for me and i have school the next day. even if i wasn't at howie's every friday, i couldn't go.

btw-it was a kool little meet on friday. they didn't hold there official meet because of the weather but we got about 6 mustangs or so up there. the weather is iffy again this week (4/12). hopefully it will cooperate and not rain.

"Skip's" Is on Main street in Downtown Clayton (Main is only 2 blocks long) Follow Clayton Road (towards Marsh Creek) until you see Main Street sign, it's about 1.5 miles from Ygnacio Valley Road. I'll post again when the official flyer is posted at Skip's.

i was at howies last week. saw stoplight warrior and some other folks there. it was cool to talk to the owners of the big block 'cudas.

i thought the L(T)(S)1 crowd was pretty ghetto fabulous, save for the brand new yellow pontiac that was there.

i was being purposefully non-judgemental about the 3 or so chevies that were lined up. i did my best to ignore the painted interior pieces, and the wide array of unnecessary guages, especially the boost guage in a nitrous car... then i asked one of the owners which car of the three (they were in the same club, according to the matching windshield banners) was the fastest... and the guy acted like he was just too fucking cool to answer the question.

riiiight. whatever. i guess you have to be a sideshow champion to come close to measuring up.

anyone else familiar with this element of the scene?

Hey what's up. You were the one with the blown GT right? That was a sick ride. Yeah, I wasn't going to say anything, but some of those F-body guys were kinda sketchy. Not all, but some. I won't be able to make it back out there for a couple weeks, but I look forward to seeing all you guys out there as the weather improves, and the days get longer.

the 2 with the older f-bodys (the z28 and the formula), they like to talk alot of shit. i met jesse (z28) and hes not a bad guy though. the one with the mullet, he thinks hes above everyone there. i guess you have to own a c5 and a 2002 se transam to hang w/ him.

the trouble with cocky fuckers with mullets is that they're so pathetically confused that i feel guilty about making fun of them.

hey streetlight, thanks for the compliments... you should try to make it out there today, even if you cant bring your car. hey, last week, did you ever walk over to that white formula and see the video that they were watching? the guy had his camcorder plugged into the in-dash LCD screen and they were all watching footage of him completely burning off a brand new set of tires. from full tread to steel cords.

can someone tell me what i'm missing here? i can sorta understand swingin' a 'nut or two, or watching a bunch of cars get smokey... but to waste an entire set of tires? it makes less sense than watching golf.

ohhh... wow. small world. yeah, i remember who you are. did you ever get that last message i left you? i explained that the problem with my current engine wasnt a piston skirt, not even a busted rocker... it was a loose header pipe. tight enough to seal to the head, but loose enough to bang on the starter or the bellhousing or something, and the "bang,bang,bang" had me thinking something was seriously screwed inside.

anyway, tightened it up, and she's been fine ever since.

i should have recognized that motor in your sig =)

we had at our peak about 12-13 stangs. the fbodys at there peak might have had 10. more around 8 or so.

someone else mentioned that he has a vette, so i sorta already knew that when i wrote what i did. nevertheless, the guy SO doesnt belong owning either car. i mean, he consistently looks like '80's trailer trash...

if he were to own a vette, it should be something from 1983. Red. i picture him cruising up the street with his Raybans on, trying to impress the females with his new ZZ top tape blaring over the "Hi-Fi" system.

actually, this is the most crowded its been this year. with the weather though, its only been held 4 or 5 times though.

during the summer, its alot more packed and sometimes goes till 9:30 or later.

That guy has problems with this tail lights I seen him on the freeway when he was cat and mousing with another 5.oh and his lights kept coming off and on.

He wasnt doing it cause one stayed on and they flickered like a short.

I was gonna tell him but when I got up beside of him he thought I was jockin and I was just going to tell him about it but then decided his buddy behind him would.
