I think the cruise needed work. It could have been better. We all got split up and no one knew where they were going. Next year: More flyers and make sure they have maps. Other than that the meet was great. Nice to see so many great stangs all together.

The people we talked to weren't pleased with the cruise. Said they won't come next year. I think it was a good plan but it had kinks. nothing that can't be fixed next year

I'd like to thank Mark and Justin for slaving over the hot coal to make the burgers!

First time poster here. Been lurking for a while. Work in Livermore and see a few cars from here. My brother and I cruised out to the meet today. He is a chevy guy. 70 chevelle SS, slammed 64 elky. We were both super impressed. My bro visits the chevelle boards and said "you mean all these people can get together without bickering about mindless shit about who cant build an engine or who doesnt know anything?" I said yeah its all about the love. Anyways, thanks a ton for putting this show on. Thanks to the chefs too, been there..much appreciated

Whats up Scott. I work with some x boa friends of yours. I stopped by your car. The inlet on your blower was way open. You had a lot of air bypasing the air meter. You werent at your car though.

I agree on all counts. The BBQ and get-together was a blast. I have never seen so many cars show up for a privately put together meet. Great job Brian and Gabe.

However, the guys who lead off the cruise took off too quickly and didn't wait for us to catch up. We did the whole cruise, but only 4 of us stayed together. I saw the majority of the cars on 24 West when we finished and were heading back on 24 East. Good route, but we need to try to keep all together for it to be more fun.

A few misc. thoughts on the cruise:

Yes we need more maps next time, may I suggest having someone go around and put them on every car so we can be sure each car has one if needed? I didn't have one, but was lucky to have someone with me who did, otherwise I would have never found ya'll.

And also I hate to be the one to say this but this wasn't a cruise, it was more of a race. Its hecka fun to go fast and all, but not when you have other people on the roadways who are not in the mix. Think about it, they are out with their kids for a Sunday drive or whatever, and here come this pack of Mustangs driving 80+ mph in most cases weaving in and out of traffic. Its just not safe guys, and honesly it makes us look like jerks to the other people on the roadway. I hate to admit that I was one of the people driving like a jack ass. And to be honest, I may choose to not participate in the cruise next time if people are behaving that way. I don't want to have any accidents out there, ya know? Plus the roads are not exactly user friendly for lowered stangs at high speeds

Overall a great day, I loved the meet! Thanks again to the guys for hosting it and I hope you do it again sometime soon!

Yeah thats right you work with Brian and Martin. Yeah I didn't hang around my car... wanted to meet ya too. My TFI module is in the way, so my powerpipe separates. I'm hoping to spend some time relocating the TFI module next weekend. Maybe that will fix some of my AFR probs...

I had a blast. Thanks guys!!

Although I should have hooked up the bottle to keep up with everyone on the cruise. It was hella fun.

I'm not sure anyone near me in the tunnel would have appreciated my revs!

Great cruise guys!!!!!

F8L, that tunnel was AWESOME!!!!! Very nice touch! It sounded like we were doing some nascar type sh*t! Hahaha, it was all together a GREAT day guys. Thanks again, the stanger w/o a stang, Drew

I don't know what you are talking about??????????
We were going 55mph on the freeway. Its way to hard to keep everybody together. We were doing the speed limit the whole time. If you felt that you were unsafe or did not like then don't come next time. No one got any tickets or accidents. I don't know what happened behind me, but I was "cruising".
Sorry if it did not meet your expectations.

Brian,

I was kinda in the middle so I could see what she means for those in the back becaue a lot of time people were going full throttle to catch back up, but I could also see how everyone in front was trying their damndest to make sure everyone could catch up. I think you guys did an excellent job on the cruise. I have been on many and I know how hard it is to organize such a large group in a traffic rich area. Again, hats off to you and eveyone that planned it bro.

Had a great time. It's been a long time. Thanks Sawson,Brian,Gabe and Matt. F--kin great turn out.
Lots of car's. [Worship]

Posted by VortechSaleen (Member # 316) on :

I know for sure we were going no more than 60 on the freeways. There were just too many cars that got caught up at the lights or stop signs trying ot catch up, when there's that many cars, it's gonna happen. Nothing anyone can do about it...

Besides that, I think this was the best meet yet. It's good to have more of a "meet/show" than a cruise sometimes...mix it up.

Justin,
I figured out what happened. A few cars got lost of the bat and went the wrong way. So they had to make up time the whole time. Did you use my directions? I put a lot of time into finding this route. This was virgin territory to me. Next time in march, there will be a better cruise
See you guys in march

Posted by F8LPONY (Member # 11) on :

Yeah, The directions saved my ass on the first part of the cruise.

You'll hear no complaints from me.

Posted by stanger91 (Member # 397) on :

You know what fuckign sucked big time? Is i went for the cruise and i as folling a BUNCH of people, and they got LOST BIG TIME. So they decided to GO HOME, and i am driving behind all of them thinking they were meeting up with all you guys cruising, here i am driving to their HOME. So we get like almost to there home and they told me that basicly they were goign home and that i had to turn around....great huh? But the show rocked.

Posted by 95Saleen (Member # 686) on :

We had a great time. Wasn't sure how the wife would like it but she was fired up. Hey any time she can take photos she's happy.
Thought the drive up 680 was very respectful. Like that grey Jag that rev'd past us. Great turnout. Count us in for next time!

Posted by 95Camaro (Member # 611) on :

I can see how some people have a gripe about the cruise, if there was either a stop sign or merging, and you got stuck behind a slow car, it was easy to get left behind. I found myself doing 110+ on the freeway to try to keep up with the first group of people that left. Granted I"m not the one complaining, because I had a blast.

For those who didn't have directions or didn't know where to go, maybe you should have followed somebody else that did. Just a suggestion of course.

Thanks Brian and Gabe, and anybody else that helped out. It was a lot of fun, and I"m already trying to figure out how to get the 30th of March off from work. Then again, I was 'sick' today. *cough cough*

I left before the cruise. So how many cars stuck around for it?

Hey Brian, and Gabe, it was cool for all of us to get together meet some people, and see some great cars, see you guys next cruise

Brian, you did a good job..All the time you put in it was worth it. like Dean said people were just playing catch up. I was hella lost following Nate so I had to drive kinda fast. I would have never made it home If I didn't keep up. I was totaly lost. didn't know what area I was in didn't want stop and ask for directions and some redneck have me in there barn telling me I have a perty mouth or somthing. I enjoyed being irresponsable for once. (for those who know me they know I don't do a whole lot of speeding) But it was fun..Good work Brian.....

The cruise route sounds like it was great. Too bad no one would give us directions or drive in a way that we could keep up. We just got told "follow the pack" but the pack split about 20 times. We followed who we could but the person in front of us had no map either. Wish I could have been there for the tunnel.

No grill,,,haahaa no I didn't see her. I aint trippin on people checking out my lady but these guys were right behind me and I turned around and they had the cameras on her ass...WTF...I didn't say anything. I just gave a dirty look and they walked away.. I didn't want to be the dick that got into a fight at Gabes meet because I was insecure... I kept my cool.

If that was me I would have wanted my man to get pissed. I like to feel like he's protective. Not controlling, just protective. Its not insecurity, its chivalry (spelling)

Hey I'm new to this board but I had to register to tell you guy what a fabulous job you did with the location of the show and the turn out. It really was a perfect day weather wise.

I don't have a Mustang (my brother has taught me to love them through his) but I was happy to park in the "non ford parking." It was a added bonus to see those four '69 Camaro's show up, not to mention the other 1st gens.
And who saw the '66 Supercharged Mustang...drool.

I am very sorry that you felt this way. I feel the meet was very well planned out. We had directions, and drove the course a few times as well. About the flyers, it was only expected that 75, count em, 75 cars would show up and maybe half would go on the cruise. We never ever expected having 200 Cars show up. There was a lot of work behind the scenes that no one else saw and how hard some of the guys worked to make sure everyone had a fun time. About the cruise getting broken up: We cannot control traffic. Inevitably there will be other cars on the road that will be driving normally that we cannot control. Sorry that people got split up, but we sure did our best to keep everyone together. I pulled off the side of the road numerous times to wait for people to try and get everyone in a group.

What happened to your Cobra? You are the guy who made the custome power pipe for your car right?

Did I miss something?

I understand the behind the scenes stuff is hard I don't mean to critisize. I only mean to add a suggestion. I was told last year's cruise was the same way. I'm sorry if i came off wrong but like you said YOU had a map. I understand about the overwhelming turn out it's just when asked "where are we headed" i was told just keep up. Hard to do when you CAN'T. Thanks for all the hard work guys. I know it takes a LOT to get one of these meets planed. C you guys next year!

I’m one of those “old farts” that showed up. I loved seeing all the great looking cars. I couldn’t believe how many cars were there when I showed up at 11:55. Great job everyone who put this together; and don’t take the criticism too personal, it goes with the territory. You can’t please everyone all the time. Now if you want my ideas on how to make it better next time……… LOL

I thought that the cruise was very well put together. It's hard to keep up when your in the back, you hit every light or sign and you have to punch it to catch up. I was in the first 5 or so cars for most of the cruise and we didn't brake the speed limit, I even believe ( probley the only one ) that it could have been a little faster and more aggressive. My 2 cents
