Ok so I finally got to take my car to the track for the first time best time was 14.129 @98.68 my 60ft was 2.202 I did that with bald tires my car is a 93 mustang Gt 5 speed with mac shorties h pipe no cats with flows, pullies, cold air intake msd 6a box so my question is how cani get a 13.9 would tires, a/c delete and a electric fan get me close to a 13.9 any suggestions besides h/c/I or gears

Do you still have the AC in? Taking it out will save you weight but cause misery in summer if you DD it. Get some new tires if yours are indeed bald, Im sure you could cut a 2.00/1.9x 60' and good shifting and you will be there!

Just getting your 60FT times down should get you in the 13's.

New tires and seat time would be a good start.

I used to run 13.4 @ 100mph, so you have enough mph to get pretty deep into the 13's. Get decent tires and improve your launch to get sub 2.0 60fts. I also used to run a short belt and bypassed the smog pump and the power steering. I think it was less than 10hp, but it was the difference between 99.2mph and 100mph. I liked seeing 100mph much better on the timeslip.

just a good set of slicks or dr's should get you 13'9x.. i'd do upper & lower control arms with a set of good dr's. that + some set time should net you mid 13's all day. no point in making more power if you can't use what you have now. [patriot]

Adjustable upper and lowers or the non adjustable?

I would recommend non-adjustable. And if you do, make sure you reinforce your torque boxes [patriot]

You can pick up a set of uppers and lowers from summit for $150

agree... ive been combating traction issues by adding more power for a few years now... makes for an awesome freeway car but not a 1/4 mile dragster.

Drag radials or slicks will get you into the 13s

i would get a set of sticky tires and a set of ten way adjustable struts and shocks and that will help a ton

Tires.

If you are running stock gears, I would not recommend DRs or slicks.. you will bog HARD. I ran 14.0 in my SN on bald street tires with a 1.9 60ft.. that was just with o/r h pipe, 3.73s, and u/d pulleys. Get some more seat time and you'll get it. Usually for every tenth off your 60ft is about 2 tenths off your ET (give or take). If you get a 2.1 60ft you should be in the 13.9s

14.1 is not bad at all ive seen the car in person a few times its basically a stock fox

traction and 60ft practice. your there bro thats all

i hate to sound like a dick...but learn to drive or break down and get good tires

cuz your car is there....you just arent

2.20 sixties are str8 shameful

knock that down to a 1.6 or 1.7 and you'll be knocking on the door of 12's

heres an old time slip from my '89, 100% stock.......long tubes and 4.10's with et streets and thats it

 -

same car with a 75 shot....

 -

a '90 vert on street tires and 3.73...with a zex 100 shot

 -

Posted by nitrous_bob (Member # 77) on :

oh...and that vert ^^^ was an AOD

now go look at the first time slip i posted.... me and the other guy are almost 1 second apart....but only 2 mph diff

my 60 was a 1.8 and his was a 2.2

get my drift ????

every tenth of sixty is good for 2 tenths on the top end

if you are going to sound like a dick, get your facts straight. you can't be 100% stock with log tubes! not to mention, i don't know anyone with long tubes that have the rest of the exhaust stock. again not 100% stock. we won't even mention the 4:10 gears your 100% stock car had. [Roll Eyes]
