Hey every one, This Wednesday is the first Wednesday Night Street Legal Fun Drags of the year. This going to be Sacramento Raceways 39th year, giving EVERY one a chance to run your street cars down the track. Its still just $15 bucks to race, and only $7 to watch. Its good fun for the whole family, and also the cheapest for of motor sport entertainment any where. Gates open at 4pm and time trials start at 5pm and eliminations start at about 7pm. We will be racing till 9:30, the snack bar will be open. So feel free to come out, check it out, and have some fun !

I'm having a tough time to find rules out about covertable. Does it require a roll cage

Posted by 1320MASTER (Member # 773) on :

Rollbars are mandatory in all cars (including T-Tops)running 11.00 to 11.49,in convertibles 11.00 to 13.49.
Rollcage mandatory in cars running 10.99 or quicker or any car exceeding 135 mph.In full bodied cars with unaltered firewall, floor, and body (from firewall rearward wheeltubs permitted) running between 10.00 and 10.99, rollbar permitted in place of rollcage. In convertibles running 10.99 or quicker or exceeding 135 mph rollcage is mandatory.

so on an unaltered car running between 10.0-11.49 is still permitted to run only a roll bar for 2012. i'm a little bit confused on the above statement.

93 Hatch....For $15 what do you expect? Come out on a Saturday T&T and you will be bitching that your drive shaft snapped. Brandonn knows what he is doing!

Hey bro I know when a track is working and that track sucked . I drop the trans brake at 5000 rpm all day at infineon and my 60s are 1.64 to a 1.66 . If my parts are going to come out it won't be at sac race way !

Posted by Notch1320 (Member # 2647) on :

Just saying Wed's are cheap way for most to have a decent time. The Fri/Sat T&T events are generally quite a bit better prep wise. When was the last time you ran at Sac? Infineon may be a bit closer for you though.

Posted by 93 hatch (Member # 8100) on :

I was there for the last ford vs chevy and it was the same thing .

Judging by what I've seen and experienced, and quite a few cars on the Fast 50 List....Sac works quite well on T&T and Grudge Fest races.

I have a couple events at Infineon later this year... I guess I will have to see for myself.

Are you coming to the bracket drags on 2-20 ?

I'm planning on it....the one at Sac on the 19th though.

LOL thats why we have THE FASTEST CARS IN THE COUNTRY come test here, small tire cars and big tire cars. Im sorry that the 15 bucks you pay to race on a wednesday there isnt a lot of room in the bottom line for track prep.

on wednesdays i do about 25 min of prep, on tnt i do about 2 hrs, a little more for grudge. and at et races we start the track prep 2 days before. you get what you pay for. the for vs chevy thing the track went away super fast form the hondas and no cars doing burn outs over the line.

lol.... I was thinking the same thing Brandonn!!!

My low 300HP car pulls 1.55-1.58 short times launching at 6800 on a 9" slick at Sac. Keep up the great work Brandonn!!!

infineon is way worse... i wasted hella gas and time driving out there cause everyone said it had way better track prep. i was getting .2-.4 slower 60's not to mention its $10 more and once youre eliminated you cant race any more. no fun run lanes.

if you cant hook at sac its cause youre a shitty driver...any retard can mash the gas... try a little throttle control

i have never been to a track where all you have to do is smash on the gas. Im not saying that its not possible, ive just never been to a track that has allowed me THAT kind of traction. Ive been to both infineon and sac. Infineon LOOKS nicer but traction wasnt any better on the days ive gone.

Dude if you have a trans brake car and are letting it go at 5k and are only cuttin high 1.6 short times, somthing aint right. Today for example i had 3 cars there with 275 drag radials all stick shift cars, all better than 1.600 short times and the hook every pass.

I pull low 1.4 60' times at sac and run in the 9's. I have yet to spin my tires on that track. It hooks! On Tnt nights anyway. Cant say for Wednesdays

93 Hatch, Open up your wallet, and let the moths out!

Try your luck on a Sac T&T day, or enjoy your time at Infineon.

As Brandonn stated earlier, a $50 T&T & bigger events get more prep that your typical $15 Wed night.

You seem to be the only one who can't make a car hook at Sac.

No i jsut use about 3 gallons of glue and usually only prep out about 70 feet, usually the traction has less how much glue i use as it does with how much rubber in on the track, to much and it peels, to little and you get bald spots and its the same as launching in a parking lot.

lol... i love stirring the pot... and what is your track of choice sir?

and you have alot of stuff done to your car to only run 125mph in the 1/4... my buddies 1.8 miata ran 12.0's at 127 on street tires at about a 45* angle... and i dont think he ever got better than 2.2 60'

Yes i do . your buddys car don't weight 3720 with driver now dose it . the 1.64 to 1.66 is foot brake . On the trans brake it pulls the tires and dose 1.62 to 1.6 60s . that's making 380 hp at the wheels and et's 11.93 at 113

Posted by fastivab6tg25mr (Member # 11446) on :

only 380 wph... thats pretty weak...

Brandon's quote, "...the ford vs chevy thing the track went away super fast form the hondas..."

What the hell are Honda's doing on the track during a Ford vs Chevy event? I am hoping to make it out there for that one this year but not if the track prep is no good and there are Honda's racing!

Is the turnout too small on the Ford vs Chevy day to pay for the full track prep?

Are there going to be non-Ford or Chevys on the track this year?

woooowwwwwwwwwwwww that is MOVING TO 60 FOOT !!!!!!

if you are only picking up 3 hun in the short time with a t-brake something isnt right, my old car made 362hp hp was a stick shift car and weighed 3690 with out me and i have a over a 100 time slips with bottom 1.60-1.55 short times on Wednesdays. not tryin to dog your car thats good hp for a na car. but i am tryin to say that there is no reason in the world your car should at least cut high 1.6's on a wednesday night at any weight

Posted by 93 hatch (Member # 8100) on :

Yep I think the 60s should be Better but the stall in the car is way to big for the setup . It's a 4200 but it will trans brake up to 5200 N/A . That's one ofthe things I need to change just haven't had the time to pull it and send it in . I don't know what it is about sac raceway but my car just don't like it . I shit u not the last time I was at infineon I ran 11 passes and the split on the et was from a 12.008 to 12.037 and I ran 4 12.037 . The car is so consistent if the 60s are there .

I think u need to look into some better rubber or shocks or something, your cars fuckn nasty, gotta have that thing hookin asap!!

To answer your question Mr. 60'....to make the track even better. Concrete to the 1/8 mile is what is in the works last I heard. There are some folks who would like to bring some actual heads up racing to Sac, and this will help.

LOL your a lost cause dude, and for your info we aren't changing the pad, there is nothing wrong with it, jsut after the pad. you know where cars with REAL horsepower need help. you keep going to sonoma and dropping your trans brake at 5k on your way to some super fast 60' foots [Roll Eyes] to any one else that wants to come race come on out, and have fun.
