I took my Mustang with my new 331 to the track in Redding on Sat night. I think a combination of the heat and somebody stole the VHT applying truck made for less than perfect traction. At least it wasn't as bad as I have seen it before. my best 60 foot was a 1.80 [Eek!] My best run of the evening was a 11.41 at 126.76 with a 1.82 60 footer. My best run in Redding before with my 302 was a 11.57 at 119.(my best run over all with the 302 was in Sac) If I make it hook and bring it down to Sac on a good day it is going to Rip

thanks, my combo is 331 GT40X heads, trickflow street heat intake. Comp XE 274 cam. Gforce T-5 3.73 gears. Vortech V2-SQ with a 2.95 pulley. Snow boost cooler. I spun through first and second(squeling the tires)I was on ET streets. I also need either taller tires or 3.55 gears it is winding a little higher in 4th than I like. I am happy for the first time to our track with this setup.

What size ET street are you running? Cause I have a similar setup as you and in the process of buying some E.T streets, and i run 3:55's.

I run the 26x10x15 ET streets. I really have not been impressed with them. I am going to give the M/T drag radials a shot if they make a set that is 27 inches tall. With 3.55's I could still go 26 inch tall tires. I need a bigger tire or at least do some chassi work LOL

I want to run the 27 inch Et Street but I don't think it will clear. My car is lowered 1.5inch.
Have you dynoed it yet?

I havn't dynoed it yet. There is a new Dyno up here in Redding but I spent all my money getting it running LOL

Its gotta be that cam Mike [Razz] When i ran the XE274 my car hauled..and it spun the tires also. Nowhere near as strong as yours though. That mph is [worship] [worship] and im sure its gonna get better with time. [patriot]

My ET Streets are not doing to bad. I went to the track Friday and made 3 passes just to see how the car was doing. First pass launched at 3k and eased into it 1.81 60ft. Next pass launched at 3500 1.78 and the 3rd pass launched at 4k and pulled a 1.74 The ET Streets definitaly need alot of passes on them before they start hooking consistantly I also kept my burnouts short this time.

if i remember u can weld cant you, so that shouldn't be a problem then, save a ton of money too

and damn, mid 11's without connectors [Eek!] , can u say twister [Big Grin]

Yes that will be a problem if I make it hook up.I was trying not to have do this but I am not smart enough to stop racing my daily driver. Plus they won't let me do that to many more times at the track, I am kind of pushing my luck and the rules.

Very Impressive [Eek!] [worship] Shit, you might hit 130 traps [Eek!] [worship]

Posted by 2stangs69-91 (Member # 1951) on :

thanks, I am thinking it might hit 130 also once I work on the chassi. I used to always say that wheel spin added MPH but I have learned that isn't the case with blower cars. The better I can put the power to the ground the more mph it will pull.(never to old to learn)

WOW! [Eek!]

VERY nice!
I have to agree.....you're gonna hit 130mph. If not in the heat, definately this winter.
I too am looking at swapping in 3.55's & going with a 26-27 inch tire. But I'm going with a full slick no matter what. IMO drag radials are fore the street. From my experiences with DR's & Sac.....it's hit & miss on hooking....even on TNT. Slicks are way more consistant.

yeah you can't be dicking around with ET streets when you want luach that high of a RPM with a 5spd, you need to get ET drags, and if you are gona get DR's te MT's are the way to go. Can't wait till winter [Big Grin]
