I don't want to be a bad talker or anything, But it pretty much Sucked!!! Nobody showed up at all!!! I don't get it? They had like 50 cars out there and cafords had like 5. There were soooo many people saying how they were gona run and junk(i understand things break cause it happened to me) but there were not 20 cars that broke in this last week. Oh well maybe next year or something. [Frown]

mine was broke unfortuanatly(both) I tried to have my shortblock back together but it seems like you can't count on anybody in the buisness to do what they say anymore. I order my stroker kit to be shiped the same day, it shipped two weeks later. I could see this comming(low turnout about a month ago)bummer. Big entry fee didn't help us ford guy's is poor LOL

I was happy with the event ran although I know the plannning and info was rough for those participating because most of the time you didn't know what you were supposed to do. This is something we plan on correcting next year. [Frown]

I too was dissapointed in the Ford showing but was very happy to see those who did show out there battling it out in a sea of GM iron (or plastic). Grats to those who took home trophys or money. You guys deserved it. [Smile]

I wanna thank Drew for doing what he could to get the CaFords side together and try to keep ailing cars running long enough to compete. You did a great job bro and I promise that next years event will have more cooperation with you and CaFords. [patriot]

Again, those Fords guys that showed and raced I thank you. The 4 of you that I actually saw out there and talked to were very cool and were eager to race and have fun without the typical attitude you often get from drag racers. Thanks to 4.6EATINGM'S, FRDFURY, John91coupe, JohnB, and the guy in the green blown 93'? GT....... [patriot]

Yep I pussed out, my wife wouldn't let me race the 03 Expedition(since mine were broken). Just bad timming everybody is gearing up for summer and out of town with buisness. Belive me I am not scared to race the LS1 crowd LOL. I was actualy looking forward to it since it was anounced and I would much rather of been there then yarding out my engine OK.

I don't think this is aimed directly at you 2stangs, we all know you are an avid racer and would have made it out if you could. I think it is directed more to those who talked it all up then didn't show OR decided to run at gurdge night later instead of trying to further our cause at getting a good Ford vs GM series going instead of the typical PSCA stuff.

Yeah I am not Pointing Fingers or trying to get people's panties in a bunch. I was just saying it was a weak turn out by CAfords. shoot my car was Broke but I still made it out there to root on the 4 stangs. 5Lvenom is right there site is a smaller and they had a shit load of cars. I know there were tons of dudes on this site that was talking it up like crazy. Also what 5Lvenom said I don't know about 26 guys breaking in the last week??? http://www.californiafords.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=001027

Once again not pointing fingers just kinda disappointed in the 4628 members of this site and we can only get 4 people to race???? Oh well like I said before Maybe next year.

Good talking to you Justin, I really want to see your truck one of these days. Good call on not rushing the process!

I'm going to take a wild stab at this and say 5LVENOM didn't post that, SpeedfreakLS1 did. [Wink] At any rate, you're a BIT off on your times..I turned a 11.9, so there! [Razz] Seriously though, I came to run...and did. 11 passes by the end of the day. As for a bunch of "slow 5.0s" Gixxer and myself CLEANED HOUSE in the Power Adder catagory. It was nice to see 2 1993 cobras battling it out in the final. Guess I need to learn to shift, eh Gixxer? I want a re-match. [Wink]
I was disappointed in the showing, it was sad. I expected WAY more cars, but that's the way it goes. The LS1 guys had a nice turnout, even if 3/4ths of the group ran 13's. [Big Grin] It's cool, at least they showed. Things do happen, things break...but cmon. [Frown]

And yeah Props to the LS1 guys comeing out and reping there shit! Props to all of you except for the few Dumb asses smoking weed next to the lifted Z71, stupid shits! But everybody else cool!

Ya, I was a bit worried myself. Then it dawned on me..maybe my car is shutting off on the top end due to less than 1/8th in th tank!?!?!!? Amazing what 5 gallons of 100 octane did for the car. [Wink]

All the LS1 guys/gals treated me great. I had a really good time. [patriot]

Was yours the teal or black cobra....We have some video of both is you are interested in in. Also i was overall happy with the event, it was fun but were all the fords scared of the ls1's???? [Big Grin] I mean there were literally 5-7 fords there.

after seeing the ford list I thought it was gonna be payback from last year from you guys. It seemed you guys had the firepower to beat us, esp after the few cars that we had that were fast couldn't make it. But alas the firepower was there, just not enough of it. Too bad as GM makes it 2 years straight.

The event was well worth it. 65 bucks for lunch and virtually hot lappping with no crowd.

11 runs! That's less than 6 bucks a run with free lunch! Last time I ran at sacto i paid 35 bucks and got 4 runs in at almost 9 bucks a run with no food.

Plus winners got a few hundred bucks cash prizes. I honestly think if all the fords showed up, there would have been several ford guys going home with a trophy and a bit richer.

Here's to the ford guys that did show up to rep, badly outnummbered , they ran hard anyways [worship]

Hey, it reminded me of the last gathering in Dublin when very few people showed. I don't have my car running, didn't bring it, didn't say I was going to. Very sad showing, almost to the point of being sorry for driving all that way to watch an almost all chevy event. I do believe I counted at least 50-60 cars wearing bowties, youguys already covered the ford count.

Sorry to all the Ford guys that showed to watch. I know it must have kinda sucked watching all the GMs going down the track. I talked with Drew and we are gonna work on some things to make sure more Fords show up next year so that everyone can enjoy this event!!

Unless we get flaked on again, then we might have to go with a GM vs Imports event... [Razz]

Yeah, it was kind of a bummer... I watched JohnB thoroughly seat the rings in his new engine, [Big Grin] and then spent most of my time there over in John91coupe's pit area trying to figure out his gremlin to no avail.
I knew the turnout was going to be bad when the people in the ticket booth tried to get me to run, and it was only 9:30. If I had a few hundred more miles on my new motor, I would have given it a flogging. Oh well, timing is everything [Frown]
My thanks goes out to the few guys/Mustangs that did run and represent us against the bowtie brigade. Paul

me try to figure my car out. i did get 2 good runs of a 12.2 and 12.1. i'll take care of it and be out there soon. thanx again to the guys that showed up!

1972Chevelle- I had the teal one, Gixxer408 was in the black one. Lemme know if you've got any footage of mine, I'm interested!

Yeah Tech looked like it would have been pretty tough to pass since the guys that were doing it had freaking pages of rules they were looking at and telling people that there cages were wrong, and how they need more space from there intake to firewall, stupid crap like that. My buddies were telling me how when they use to go out there as long as you had a helmet it was all good.

The top 6 norcal guys broke, I broke a U joint last night, NickN broke his rear yesterday, WHITLIE broke his rear last week Gr8White broke his tranny last week, and nossboy had issues as well. So yeah bro, your right, there werent as many people there as planned, but us norcal guys all came that said they would, but only 4 cafords did? Hmm,some people got scared. We had 6 people not show up due to problems, you cat tell me all but 4 of you cafords guys broke too lol. We even have a smaller club then you guys and we had more people there. I think some of the planners were pissed. We had T-Shirts made "CHEVY vs FORD" and i told him to go through all the shirts with a marker and cross out the ford part and change it to "Chevy vs Chevy". I still had a lot of fun, as well as the other norcal'ers. Hey, at least we had real compitition running against our other Chevy's! [Wink]

SpdfreakLS1

cant say it better most cafords people pussed out.the only ponys i saw that were quick were 4.6eatin GM's and 93pony these other 3 cars were 94-98 bolt-ons runnin high 14's nice way to show that we can get on LS1's...

Yeah today did suck [Frown] Towed john91coupe out there and we got it teched and then came back to the pits and it wouldn't start after that [Frown] had to push it on the trailer(thanks to those who helped) then when we got back to john's house pushed it into his garage [Frown] We noticed if john had ran he would have been the fastest car there except for the IROC. It was seriously a bad turn out for the FORDs i don't know what happened [Frown]

It was nice meeting you Drew, and Paul. [patriot]

Man, sorry to hear about the poor turnout from oue camp. I REALLY REALLY wanted to go but backed out on principle due to Force Fed Performance's involvement and personal issues I have with them.

Sorry to those who worked so hard to rent the track and set this whole thing up.
Maybe we can just go during a grudge night like in the past. No prize money, no trophies, no sponsers, just bragging rights

It would have been if the fords who said they were coming to run gm showed up. I can't believe they skipped a chance to beat up on gm's to go to grudge night afterwards. I understand if there were running issues, but to skip the shootout and go to grudge right after it makes me wonder about the competivness of some of the ford brethen after all the talk. This doesn't apply to those that did come out and had mechanical difficulties, just those that said they were coming to run and skipped out to grudge afterwards

Yea 65 dollars for 10-20 runs. At points early in the morning there was literally NO line. There was no one going down teh track. You could run, pull around and stage right away. Much better than going to a grudge for 45 dollars and getting 3-4 runs.

Posted by 1Sicgt (Member # 714) on :

Well it was nice to meet some of you guys there that I haven't met before, I probably should have introduced myself better. I was the guy wearing the Steeda hat walking around. John B. and Gixxer, good runs. FrdPny I hope it was nothing too major, we watched that run, then came and talked to you by the bleachers later about it. To the guys that were there, props to you, shame more didn't show.

What happened with John 91's car?????

Oh, and Kev (SpdfreakLS?) If your car was running, I don't think it would have been the fastest out there.

I think that would work better. I think the 65 dollars really pushed away a lot of Ford racers, cause I know how Frugal they can be.

The $65 didn't bother me at all
Hell, isn't it $45 for grudge? an extra $20 is no big deal

Brian

$65 aint squat for a once a year event. If it really is that much of a difference to the Ford guys then maybe we should go with Drew and Brian's idea and keep our CaFords vs. Norcal thing on a grudge night like normal and we (Norcal) can design a different type of race where we are not counting on any one type of group to show up. All day we were really stressed about how muhc money we'd be in the hole because all the other Ford guys decided to fuck us and go to grudge night instead. Turns out we still made out but only because of the cool Ford guys that did show and all the LS1's that came out of nowhere.

It's really dissapointing when you try so hard to create something big that all of us local EFI guys can enjoy and call our own on a yearly basis and some people are too cheap to show support.

[patriot] To those who broke and couldn't show and to those who did, even if it was just to spectate.

It was worth the 1 1/2 hour drive there and the 2 hour drive home just to watch. Some really awesome cars out there.

The Ford guy's didn't Fuck you ,maybe you should find out why they didn't show and then "Fix it". just because you make a Chevy, Ford event doesn't mean they will show. Obviously they wanted to race if they showed up for the Grudge. Very few events are a huge sucsess on the First try. At least you didn't lose any money

Fix what??

How many times did we ask for advice on what rules to change? Did anyone step up to the plate?

Turns out the only rule that was "wrong" was a cubic inch rule which was changed.

Nah, no excuses in my book. I just know who to rely on now. Our GM Events always worked out perfect so maybe we should just stick with those.

I know what you are saying man, but when there is a list of at LEAST 25 Fords all saying they will show right up to the point of the actual race then I say they fucked us. But hey, that's my opinion on it, doesn't mean it's right. When i see lines of Fords waiting outside to get into grudge instead of supporting us then it leaves a nice sour taste in your mouth for the local Ford community.

I know what your saying Justin, some people don't understand. I still showed up even though I was broke to throw out some support to the racers. I think the only thing I would "fix" or try to is maybe making it a night time event? That might bring more out? Don't know if that might help. But you are right 65 bucks aint shit, compared to other events, and like Brian stated its only 20 more bucks then the Grudge or TNT nights. I think you guys did a good job and gave it your best. Maybe thats what happens when GM guy's setup the event with out anyhelp in the begging from the Ford guy's? you guy's Closed your Forum to set up the event unless you were a paying member. I signed up at LS1 to see how things for the event were going only to find out the forum for the event was closed to people unless they paid to get in. Look I am just trying to help you guy's figure it out. I was going to be there except for my car is down. Plus it is a little different for me I am not going to drive 2 1/2 hours to watch a event I want to race in when my car is broke. I will tell you this comming over here saying how we all fucked you is going to do zip for you if you try to set up another one in the future. Maybe if you open everything up to discusion from the start instead of trying to fix it on the fly with only a few weeks left will help? On a side note I have drag raced for 19 years at tracks and have never paid 65 bucks to race at a single event. I guess I am a cheap bastard LOL. Better luck in the future.

Yeah, I agree, I have some fast friends who drive LS1s and that board is run by a bunch of fucktard nazis IMO, and I only post there because of my friends.

Shit they'll probably ban me now for saying that, typical though.

IMO, the event yesterday was very weak, and if it ever happens again, having more open communications on rules etc., will probably help. And running in the dead heat of summer afternoons is gay (yesterday was an exception, it was cool enough, but a chance not worth taking), how about an evening event next time. Why the hell else do you think more people showed up for grudge.

I would of run yesterday too (another excuse I know), but my car is down due to fuel system upgrades and a dyno tune next Sat.

F8L- we have not met yet, and from those that I know who know you, they say you are a cool/decent guy, but dude, step off your high horse. So far from our little exchanges online, my opinion of you isn't so great, but we're bound to meet eventualy, and people are different in person, I hope anyway.

I would of run yesterday too (another excuse I know), but my car is down due to fuel system upgrades and a dyno tune next Sat.

F8L- we have not met yet, and from those that I know who know you, they say you are a cool/decent guy, but dude, step off your high horse. So far from our little exchanges online, my opinion of you isn't so great, but we're bound to meet eventualy, and people are different in person, I hope anyway.

true, the heat is stupid to run in and yeah it would be better in the evening. I just don't get how you think Justin is high on a horse. Maybe you should step up to the plate and help him do the event. Cause you know what is going on so well. Drew was the only Cafords guy that was even willing to actually help. nobody else wanted to do anything but bitch and complain.

That board is locked in certain areas for paying members, where I'm sure some of the planning was done. I understand that it wasn't an easy feat to put the event together, just don't bitch for people not showing up to the event, but showing for grudge thats my point.

As for him and his high horse, that was more about a post he made on his safe board to me, that I don't expect you know about, so keep to yourself friend.

the ford vs gm fourm on norcal was closed to every one.the only pepole allowed in where the pepole who where planing the event. The club members wherent alowed in nor where the officers. I ASKED FOR HEELP FROM YOU GUYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All i got was lip service. Pepole sayin "ya ill help with the rules" and then when it time to walk the walk who was there, not a single fukin peroson, all i got form this board in the start was jack shit. I asked several pepole to help. I am not ognna aske every one to help becase if there are to amny hands in the kitchen then you get burnd (or what ever that sayin is) like i said earlyer if There was somthin you honestly didnt like or a problem you saw before the race tell us then. Tell me now but dont tell me how you could have done better unles you are willing to step up and put up the 7k, and the hundreds of man hours it takes to put on a event this size. Its Ez to say "it was weak" dont do it durin the day when you have no idea what goes into somthing this size. The resone we did it durin the day is its $2500 cheaper to split the day with the gruge race, Ya it sux having to be at the track at 6:30 and havin to stay up till 3 the 2 nights before the race tog et every thing ready but you know what. I had fun, It was good food, a nice day, good pepole and fun racing. If you guys want to come to next years event cool if not then dont i dont care honestly. it was worht all the work just to go out and have fun.

Like I said, I'm sure it was no easy feat to plan etc. Hats off to your hard work, but don't come here and bitch about how none of the ford guys showed talking shit, because you know if we said shit like that on norcal it would mean bannage. Beleive me, I was embarrassed there weren't more Ford guys representing, but oh well.

It will always be impossible to please everyone.

I will say this for your planing next year.
Even though this is Website For Norcal Ford and someother offbrands, the people have to want to race in your event. If people are not into what you have planed they will not come. All the money comes out of our own pockets. If you don't change your attitude about it now you can count me out for next year(I spend my money were I like). There are plenty of races to hit that are specialty events for the Ford guy's MAKE IT SO FORD RACERS WANT TO ATTENED and they will regardless of were they post. Saying you were open in the begging for rules input is bullshit. I tried to see what was up and couldn't find out. Stop crying about it and move on.

IMHO I think the event seemed to be planned well I think there were just a lot of missunderstandings about "rules" for the other races going on that day as well as people getting the wrong idea because people were getting upset and bitchin online. I know I had a lot of fun out there last year. Maybe next year dont worry about trophies, or have only one trophy, help with costs. Witch ever board has the most wins overalll gets the trophy. This is supposed to be fun so bitchin by participants and people that set it up aint going to help anything, only causes problems. Remeber Drag racing is supposed to be fun. Ohh and as long as my car doesnt brake I should be good for next year [patriot]

We are gonna try for a nighttime spot next year. This year was bascially already booked up from what I understand and the regular 5:00-9:30 time slot doesn't leave enough time to pull off a full event so we are gonna try on working on an allday/night thing so people can get a ton of runs in durring the day with plenty of cooldown time and then run at night when it's nice and cool so they can turn up the wick if they want to [Smile]

Who knows what the exact plans for next year will be but part of our plan is to have a forum up and ready LONG in advance that anyone can enter to discuss rules and such so we have everything worked out before the race. Part of the the problem this year is we had very little time to get this thing rolling and almost pulled the plug because we couldn't advertise properly. The forum will also be located on a seperate forum which is nuetral to all boards so you don't have to sweat our Norcal or CaFords Natzis as some like to call us. [Smile]

5LVENOM, I understand where you are coming from. Sorry that you see me as riding a high horse but after 3years of being an officer of the club it's hard not to feel like you need to take control of certain thing where the club is concerned. I look forward to meeting you someday. Then you can decide wether to hate me or not and vice versa because we all know the internet can really skew someones opinion on a person. [Smile]

I had not visited either board for well over a month and only found out yesterday that the event was even taking place because 5LVENOM called me to see if I was gonna watch. Bad deal about your whole event. I went to Grudge night on a spur of the moment deal. Have'nt even drove my car in over a month and saw some racing so I decided to go get the car and blast it down the track a few times. Not that I would be racing for any board but the principle was fun enough.

i was there with a few other mustangs and props to them who came out, but i feel it was bullshit that the planning for this has been going on since january and people from this board should have spoken up if they didnt agree with shit.
but when some people said something all they did was cry about shit instead of trying to help with a solution.
i was out there representing and my car was running like shit but i still represented.
oh well maybe next year us ford guys can maybe put some more input on how we can make this fair for everyone with an agreement.

One thing to remember is the event while a nor cal ls1 sponsored event, we wanted to have a fun competition between ford and gm. I agree we did not look at things from the ford perspective, but when it was pointed out to us by some, when we asked "how do you think we could change it to make it more palatable to ford peeps" no one answered. I realize there are ford only event you can run, but how many events do you get to get a chance to beat up on your rivals?

Another thing is the event took a lot of planning, much more than some of you realize. I don't know if you really wanted to be there in the beginning to do all the groundwork, it was a lot of work. the other thing is yep, we do have a lot of say in how it was run since we risked all the money up front to pay for the event not knowing if we were going to lose it or not. . Perhaps if the ford peeps want to put up half the money ( no guarentee of return and it is several thousand dollars for that half for track rental, employees, ambualnce, security, etc) then we could plan it together. But since we put up the money, it is onl;y fair that we plan it out as we see fit. Even if we don't go halves, we still hope someone will step foward with suggestions rather than remaining silent and stewing about it.

If some people didn't like the way the event was set up then they simply don't need to sign up. No hard feelings. It's just that we planned and spent money based on XX amount of ford participants who said they would go ( knowing the rules as they stood) that were on the list posted here and they simply didn't. We overbought on food because of that.

Anyways we have the experience and will run an event again next year regardless, but hopefully more fords can make it

As everyone said, a big thanks to everyone who did come out. Even though the Ford turnout was a little less than we all hoped i think everyone had a great time.

I understand everyone on the planning issue, and next year we will try to make some very positive changes. As Justin and Kevin brought up, i don't think everyone know that our club put up the thousands of dollars to rent the track and put on the event. When you're risking that much money it makes it hard to just let the planning go to hell. Or to try to depend on someone else to handle it. I'm sure if anyone would have steped up and offered to help Brandon out, or give him any advice he would have listened. As to the forum, i wasn't allowed in there either...

I also think the prize money, sponsorship, stuff was a cool idea and worked out really well for the most part. Plus a few of you guys took some money home [Smile] I doubt you are complaining. Nice race by the way for the final of the P/A class. I understand your reasoning Brian and hope that you can resolve your issues and make it out next year. (even though who knows who will be sponsoring the even then).

On the Tech subject. We were mostly just trying to help everyone get into the proper class so they could be competitive. We knew there was a lot of misunderstanding and people not knowing about the classes, I felt we did a really good job helping the day of the event. As far as the cages and such goes, that really came down to the track officials. As much as we wanted to let shit slide they were watching right over us. Hell, I even told people to maybe try to play it easy all day then go balls out. It seemed the main problem with the cages wasn't the track, it was people's misunderstanding of what was legal and what wasn't. All most all the cars that needed cages had them. And there was ONE problem with cages. BOLTED IN! It doesn't matter what wolf or whoever tells you, if you want to run under 12.00 you MUST have a bolt-in cage. Like i said, that wasn't us being Nazi's we had no control over that. It seemed most people just didn't know that, a few guys seemed pissed that they weren't told that when they had their cage installed, no one really seemed upset as us.

I also just want to thank Drew again, he stepped up and was helping out. Not only that, but he drove home to get his truck and drove back to tow Duane's car home. That was very awesome, that's what this shit should be about. Racing, cars, having fun, and hanging out with friends. Hope to see more of you next year [Wink]

Yeah i herd that too, i thought he was sneaking a nitrous shot in there till i saw the times, sounds like a timing issue to me. Seemed like you were hot lappin that beb all day [patriot] I think the fastest car out there was that 3rd gen 9.5 was what i saw. Either way guys, fords or not, i enjoyed coming out there, seeing everyone and BSing again, getting out from the "message board" to talking to the people in person finally is always a treat. Only thing im butt hurt about was the top 7 or so norcal guys all were broken! [Mad] It happens though, seems like the faster you get, the faster the bank empties and the more your car is on jack stands. But when shes running good, watch out ya know. Oh well, there are PLENTY of other race days, id rather race in the colder season anyway, although i would have been out there on a heart beat yesterday.

Rob, sorry i jumped on your name, apparently my name is banned or something? Dont know why, anyway, ill stop. Just wanted to talk with the other racers about the event. No harm right? Not starting any trouble, i know just as many cafords guys as i do norcalers. Anyway, off to work on the maro..

ok i will say it......since no one else is. i will speak for a lot of people.

for most of us its a 2hr drive. the event was made too early! i understand it was the only open spot...maybe another night would have been better. i dont know too many people who would want to wake up at 5am, get ready, arrive at 8-830 and race on a Sat(day off). thats why a lot more people show up for the night grudges. just my opinion. take it as ya want. hope the next one is better showup rate

maybe next year you could have a depoist or something to make sure more people show up. I ran out of money and had no slicks no cage and no rear end in yet so I told them I couldn't make it I didn't flake. But maybe next year I will be out there [worship]

Well it was fun, weather was nice and cool, I got to practice in the Cobra, the staging lanes was moving fast. And had a nice UNLIMITED BBQ all day long. Chalk up another disappointed person... and yeah, having to see that long line of mustangs waiting to get in for grudge after I left was like salt on the wound.

Didnt like the way it was set up, or feel like your opinions didnt want to be heard? Try this, put up some fuckin money or stfu.

Oh, 65$ too much money for you? Well figure this, if this side had wanted to help out, and put in some money in the begining the profits would have been split between the clubs and then you could have been helpin this site out, but I guess you guys wouldnt care about that either.

How many times have I heard people say stupid shit like "Oh, we should rent the track some time..." and "I'd pay 100$ if I knew I'd get alteast xx amount of runs in"

The good thing that came from all of this was tho that the people who did show up got an assload of runs, and all the food they could possibly eat...

Oh, and my favorite parts were watching Silvino and Treynor run their fast cars, not something you get to see often at the track, since usually it wouldnt be permitted(rules).

How do you know that long line was even aware of the race day event? How much advertising was done?

I heard a rumour that some Ford's were turned away early in the day because the gate thought it was an LS1 event only.

thats what im trying to figure out [Confused]
it wasnt doing that before. it could be too much fuel, not enough ignition, im stumped, but on another note i have some parts on order and im hoping the back firing issue can be figured out.

whats a trip though is i had normal 91 octane in it when it was backfiring, so when i got low enough on fuel i added some 103 in it and it stopped doing it [Eek!]
and i also tried some et drags on the car for the first time and lost almost 6 mph over my nitto's [Mad]

my excuse for not showing up are as followed...

1. I like to race at night.(to hot during the day)
2. Im not a morning person.
3. My dumbass was under the impresion ford vs cheby was at night.
4. From 8:00am to 1:00pm i was working on the car just to finish it on time.
5. did i mention im not a morning person.

i did make it to grudge night tho, but i get the impression that maybe i should of just stay at home...i apoligize to the event organizers...fuck no, im not a fraid of any ls1, ill still race him even if it runs 8's... [patriot]

Ok, first off....excuses are like assholes..you know the rest. The BS about it being a 2 hour drive is lame. Most on this site jump peoples shit about not making a damn car show in SJ, nevermind living in Sac...so it's BS. Second, if you were serious about running, and didnt like the rules/classes/etc...you'd have said something. I'm sorry, but if folks like Gixxer can come up from SJ, everyone else can too. What it boils down to is this...those who have running cars didn't show, for whatever reason...and that reason sucks the big one. I got my ass up at 6 am..and it was to represent. Period.

no he wants the iroc, it was a 9.80 car on a decent pass last night, but the tune wasnt there and that was with a 1.55 60', so when the tune is down and he nails the launch like usual he might have a chance

he usually goes to the grudges so that would probably be the next time

In the beginning there was a lot of people that said "im in", where the fuck were you? If the rules were a problem then you should have said something. I personally had 15 runs all day. So everyone who didnt show missed out.

i was there with a few other mustangs and props to them who came out, but i feel it was bullshit that the planning for this has been going on since january and people from this board should have spoken up if they didnt agree with shit.
but when some people said something all they did was cry about shit instead of trying to help with a solution.
i was out there representing and my car was running like shit but i still represented.
oh well maybe next year us ford guys can maybe put some more input on how we can make this fair for everyone with an agreement.

So that was your car. Dude what was it backfiring for? [Confused]
thats what im trying to figure out [Confused]
it wasnt doing that before. it could be too much fuel, not enough ignition, im stumped, but on another note i have some parts on order and im hoping the back firing issue can be figured out.

whats a trip though is i had normal 91 octane in it when it was backfiring, so when i got low enough on fuel i added some 103 in it and it stopped doing it [Eek!]
and i also tried some et drags on the car for the first time and lost almost 6 mph over my nitto's [Mad]

has your car been dyno tuned?
im about to swap out the cams and put new ones in and add some more parts and after that im just gonna tune with a wide ban, and real time street use fuck dyno tuning it,im gonna tune it my self with some help of some others here on the board with a pms [Wink]

120ish? he must have definitely let off at the last 100 feet or something. That was definitely the fastest car there and then if we had john's car running it would have been the 2nd fastest.

he usually goes to the grudges so that would probably be the next time

We'll be there this weekend. Find out if he'll be there. We can line up again. [Wink]
