i will desimate all when my 88 notch comes out
cant beat my afr 435's, super ridiculous victor sheetmetal intake, and stock gt cam for driveablility
oh and that 185mm turbo will maybe spool by 10,000 rpm, right at my midrange

i will the first notch in the 5's on a 9 inch wide tire

how is that for woethless smack talking

but really, here is my input to the drag racing section

42 or 48 splines? More splines mean more torque multiplication...

66 AC Cobra I don't think I will have anything for you LOL. I will get some pics of my 69. I changed computers and I have to transfer them. As far as you stroker guy's go talk is cheap. And as soon as all you guy's get your cars running I am staying home [Eek!] . Season'd 88 wanted smack talking LOL I don't actualy think I will be able to beat to many of the hard running strokers. That is unless I show up with one of my own with the Vortech hmmm(won't be for a while but it will happen)

$115 in parts, add 15 hours of cutting and welding only because it was the first time i have done it, and BAM, u will no longer have traction issuez

can someone say 1.2* 60' if i am man enough to launch on the brake, on the W tire, at 5000rpm, and on the juice [worship]

the car will have the capabilities but will I [Frown]

If you don't we will put somebody in there who does LOL.So with that 60 foot you are shooting for low 9's or better ? As for Drag Slics(seasoned88) my car is a street car I don't run no stinking drag slics.

once my car is up and running, all the bugs are sorted out and i can get some good times in it, i will have someone else drive it to see how much i can improve with some more practice

shooting for 9.50's
big in windsor dart based
afr 205's, solid street roller, vic jr., built carb shop carb, nx gemini quad plate, two stages to total about 250-300, c4 built, blah blah

should be over 800+ flywheel hp on the juice and race gas ofcourse

with very good suspension and a tire that can hold it to the ground

Posted by 66 AC COBRA (Member # 904) on :

realistically the car will never dip below a 1.35 60' just because I dont have the balls to launch on both stages, or even one forthat matter

do u have the valve cover breathers routed to the header collector for vacuum, or do the rubber tubes go somewhere else

have u ever out a gauge on the evac system to see what kind of vacuum u get

Thanks Brian. The 10.30 is on the NOS. It was 11.2 on the motor. It is a 10.2 to 1 428. I used to run a 427 FE that was a little quicker but I killed that also. If I was smart I would do a 460 based engine like Victor keeps telling me. The old slot mags are nostalga LOL but they are going to be off in favor of Pro Stars. Yes the header evac system goes to the collectors. I have never had a vacuum gauge on it to see what it pulls when I Race it.

We will be out testing for the first time May 7th, it's an all day test n tune Friday. Had to find a new guy to tune the FAST system so I have been set back a bit on the project. Have a really good guy helping with the turbo so should run good if the track can hold us that day!

to FASTERDAMNIT: yeah man I was there last sunday me and my hommie were the only ones from cal fords that I saw. I ran a very very very crappy run. The best I got was ( don't laugh man) 14.6 at 100mph. I now I need drag radials or something, any suggestions on what brand works the best. Before my mods I pulled of a stock 14.3 at 97 something mph. Now I can't hook worth a damn. An O.G told me If I'm over 99mph I should brake the 13's I don't know if that Is true or what?

Bounty Hunter: If you guy's are there running on the 8'th it will be worth it to come down just to see your car run. Hopefully a lot of CA Fords Guy's are there running.

yeah, and twice the cost for building anything serious like I want to. [Frown]

I've been looking into getting another 5 liter to build up so I can do some serious racing.

anyone want a s/c'd 98 cobra? [Razz]

dont give me that teice the $$$ bullshit stuff [Razz]

u dont need to buy an intake, heads, a block, a crank, etc

i have to buy a dart block $2000
heads, same price if u do some seriously extensive porting

my crank will be 800

but shit, i will never trade it for the sound of a 408 with a big solid roller that will make peak power around 7k rpms [Big Grin]

u can just throw a charger on ur stock motor and make 450rwhp with bolt ons/fullexhaust on some decent boost basard [Wink]

Posted by the50ho (Member # 73) on :

true...and then my SHIT ASS GARBAGE rods can literally explode under boost...and then my basically stock rebuild making NO power, and a measly 281 ci will cost me about 5 grand. [Frown]

If only I was fully forged and had 331 cubes with the technology my car has....oh jesus...9's here we come [patriot]

actually will peak around 6900, with the new motor I will be shifting around 7000rpm, and want to go through the traps at about 7000rpm on the tack

u can work it out if u want, this will give u actually results
6300rpm figuring 10% torque convert slip
27.5" tire "tires arent a tall as advertised"
3.55 gear
1.00 c4 final gear

thats a lot of nitrous [Big Grin]

will ne running a 28x11.5r15, but it wont measure that, if i run out of gear on the second stage i might switch to a 29x10.5w
