onesicklx - Nice meeting you. Thanks for bring out some fast cars. That GT runs VERY impressive for its mods. 11.7 on a basicly stock motor+ cam+small shot We had a lot of cars out there with a lot more stuff not running much faster. I'm a big fan of simple combos that run hard

Lilghoust - Just more practice is all you need You definately have the MPH for 12's.

Look at the reaction times, he gave up about .2 seconds by being slow to leave the line after the light turned green.

yea, i lost my densecharger on a couple of those runs...parts were flying left and right yesturday. PoisonedPony had his Powerpipe collapse on him as well.

IROCDan won because he was faster at the light. In drag racing having a quick car is only half the battle. Reation times can make or break you. I think at least half the races that were upset yesterday were done due to good reaction times

Actually my trap was 108.56 but yea

Seriously though, it's too bad it went down like that, our times were going to be REALLY well matched. I also pulled my best run ever on that pass so I was really hoping it was going to be a close race. Next time... Good luck with getting the car sorted out too.

Its an S600 Mercedes top of the line family sedan lol. Id like to see a CL600 go out there. Same engine but less weight. Same $130,000 price tag though.

It was a fun day (cept for the track prep, or lack of) and thanks to all who set things up. It was good to meet the people who's screen names had no faces (nice pants moo!).

Anyway, from looking at the times in this post I'm not sure if I'm supposed to give my best time or the time that was run during the "official" race. Here are both: 10.731 @ 124.328 for the club race and 9.731 @ 136.813 for the best of the day.

Looking forward to the car show now.

Thanks for putting this event together. It was a very fun event. The BBQ was also great. I tried to find some tires but was unsuccessful.

slowasss01 I own the black turbolx i ran 10.42at133spining the tires to the 1000ft marker.Tried one more pass same result had to lift or hit the wall.(track prep was a joke no VHT)we were looking for nines.Maybe next time still had a good time. TURBO302 bigboy racing fabrication

I lined up to race the Mercedes guy, his name is Ben and he seems very nice, but that's the moment my stock clutch quad decided to fail - right on the starting line. He ran a 10 second time on that run, I was told.

My setup is nothing exotic, stock block, trick flow heads, trick flow intake, TTI T76 race turbo, Anderson Motorsport PMS, Wolf Racecraft drag suspension. Just wish the track prep was up to "par"
We'll see on the 4th of July for the PSCA event. Norman and Todd said the PSCA events are well prep'd. Looking for 9's!

Met sum cool heads & the BBQ was great. Prolly was my best trak meet yet. A big thanx to all there & thanks to Jim, Dean(?), Sawson for finding my vaccum leak.

Where to begin? I'm so burnt out from the event and the hectic days leading up to the event, I don't have much motivation to post lately, even though I owe a thousand thank-you's to people, and a ton of emails to return/send.

John91coupe- Glad you could make it out. Not much I could do about the track prep. I was getting pulled in a hundred directions all day. Next time, Treyner is going to race his Yellow 850 rwhp Viper against you on behalf of Norcal-LS1.

Crazy3gz - Sorry your competition had some problems. If I wasn't stuck administering the races, I could have rigged up something to get Poison Pony's Cobra to be competitive with you.

eljefe - Glad you liked the race. So many close races thanks to Drew, Justin and I matching the cars closely.

Cobra5.0Jeep- I don't know what to say. Either your cobra seriously needs "The Drew-Mod" or something is wrong with the car. 13.1@105 mph is what your cobra should run with out the blower. Thanks for coming out and racing though. I hope you had a good time

ray95 - Your car is some sticky tires and better driving away from 11's!

Quick 88LX - Those are some serious 60 fts with Nitto's your 1st time out. Congrats on the 12 second timeslip.

Tyrant89 - Nice running into you on the freeway like that. Good thing your over heating problem wasn't serious and you were able to make it to the track and run consistant low 12's, and reach your goal of 11's once the weather cooled down.

shade-tree - I still can't believe you were power shifting and spraying nitrous on the freeway on your way to the track Who would have guessed that Home Depot alternator braket rig wouldn't hold up You should have called someone to come fetch you. We had a few guys that could have trailored you the rest of the way and MooStang had extra 6 rib belts she was trying to give away. I'm sure between our hacking skills, we could have pulled enough parts from my car to get you down the track a few times against those LS1's. Oh well, no use crying(more) over spilled milk.

Yeah, there were 3 somewhat mis-matches looking back. We all knew John91Coupe was a mis-match because he's too fast for a street car and too slow for a race car. Turns out if Crash would have sprayed on that pass, he could have possibly beat John's 10.70 pass though

The other mismatch was 91PONY vs sexychevygirl. 91PONY gets the "And she means bussiness" award for the race. Showing up with big tires out back and skinnies up front... she wanted to chalk up a win for CaliforniaFords at all cost Moostang should have been paired up with Sexychevy girl instead, because Heather (91PONY) can go toe to toe with the boys now

You and the stocker LS1 was a mismatch because neither Drew or I saw that you recovered from your over heating problems to run low 12's. Last time I saw your car before we ranked them was when it was over heated on the side of the freeway at the 80 juntion. That combined with your first trip to the track with the blower, I assumed mid 12's.

Yes, the headliner race was also uneven as well.... over two seconds and 60+ MPH apart, but what a show it was

Other than that, everyone else was with in two tenths, and often much less apart. Very close and well matched heads up racing for the most part.

I knew it would be a mis-match....it was her 1st time at the track and I've been doing this for a few years! Plus hers was stock.... It was fun, though....just watch out next year, I'll be lower on the list (deep in the 12's)! I'll post my official numbers later today....

Best Ive seen was an 11.7 in that car. Its not right that it goes that fast but I damn usre wouldnt be ashamed of losing to it. 5speed auto and "perfect" traction control. Its a point and squirt car.

BTW it is a Renntech Mercedes S600. They have 493HP stock I believe and this wasn't stock

I guess I am doomed to never see the video's . I downloaded every piece of software that Sawson suggested but still cannot access the files. Does anybody feel sorry enough for me to help me out .

Here is what Hardcore Vette posted on Norcal:

1st run E.T. 12.501 at 111.518 MPH vs. 12.345 at 114.251 (LOST)
2nd run E.T. 12.712 at 111.694 MPH vs. 12.796 at 111.240 (WON)
3rd run E.T. 12.423 at 110.848 MPH vs. 12.831 at 113.640 (WON)

1st run I broke-out and redlighted.
2nd run was fair and all driving skills on both sides.

Yea, "Drew?" means Dean. Thanks guys. The car ran great that day, even after a 3+ hr drive in the heat, overheating 2X and waky trak conditions.

I think you should either stick in a lincoln electric fan on there or go back to the stock fan to cure your overheating problems. A small fan on your tranny cooler wouldn't hurt either. Prefably a pull-through fan placed between your tranny cooler and radiator that will still alow the face of your cooler to "see" open air.

Hey Mark - sorry to hear you had problems at the line for our race! I saw you do the burnout and then start unbuckling your belts, and I thought "uh oh, hope it's nothing serious". Breaking's a part of racing, and I'm sure we will get a rematch.

FWIW, I believe I ran an 11.9 when I they finally waved me on for a solo run. 10s in the family car would be nice, but I don't think it's in the cards unless I decide to go crazy with the car -- and I would never do something like that
