Whos going? Me and a bunch of friends are gonna be there. Ive never gotten there before its open, but i want to this time, so my question is do you just line up outside the gates or...? Thnx!

I *should* be there with my 5th (or is it 6th?) heads/cam/intake combo.

Gates are actually open pretty dern early. I doubt if you leave from S.F. you'll get there before they open. Don't kill yourself getting there, IIRC, it's not till 10:30 am or later they actually let you run, probably 11:00 am realistically.

Posted by PeNiNsula302 (Member # 1061) on :

So what time do you think i should arrive to get a good spot in line? Reason im so adimant about getting an early start is cause i cant stay till 3, so i wanna start runnin a.s.a.p. Also, can i change to my slicks while im in the lanes? or should i get tech'ed then go change them then come back?

Posted by shade-tree (Member # 298) on :

get there @ 9:30 if you're an anal probe. Gate should be open. Get in line and swap your tires there, tech won't start till 10:15 or later, lol inconsistant.

(Drew or somebody correct me if I'm talking out of my ass)

Posted by bunchmyfunky (Member # 360) on :

Get there at 9 and go straight back to the pits(back parking lot) You will have plenty of time to change your tires and whatever else u want to do. Then go up to tech and get in your lane. You should be the first one.

Shade-Tree, If Jim goes you two have to line up. That would be a good race.

Hehe nice. I guess ill get there round 9:30'ish, go to the back and switch them, then get tech'ed etc. Ive raced at the track once before EARLY last year, and that was in my old v6, so this is gonna be fairly new. From what ive observed though from the times ive been there since to watch, the track doesnt hook well in the beginning of the day, or am i wrong?

I suck at cars. Jim would smoke my shit.
I'm going to run over the RX-7 guy on the freeway a few times so my bottle will be real low though, lol. [patriot]

I agree with Mark, better to tire swap in the back, but I've been there @ 9:30 by myself and swapped tires off to the side by my lonesome.

mark you gonna be spraying?

Posted by bunchmyfunky (Member # 360) on :

If I go it will only be to watch. Just spent 45bucks on getting my nitto's taken off and my goodyears put back on. Plus I have to get my slicks balanced. They mounted them and didnt balance them. Now they want another 20 bucks a tire to balance. I also have to go get new plugs.

Posted by shade-tree (Member # 298) on :

dude by some rims. I have a shed full, lol.

Posted by bunchmyfunky (Member # 360) on :

I have wheels. Draglights just got my slicks mounted right before the last TNT, thats how I found out that they aren't balanced. As far as the Nitto's go they were bald and had to be replaced. I drove home from SJ last week in the rain, 50mph the whole way anything faster and the car would start sliding.

Just curious, if you really want to line up against one specific person, is that possible? I mean like if they are right behind/in-front of you in line, can you work that out?

Posted by st5150 (Member # 51) on :

Yes, just ask the guy at the line when you roll up "Can you line me up with that XXXXXX colored XXXXX back there?"

As long as you are in the lane one after another, they will usually let you as long as you ask the guy at the line of the staging lanes.

We got fogged out at Sacramento today. I may try next weekend.

We salvaged the day by stopping at the Sudwerk Brewery in Davis for tasty food and beverages! [Smile]

Is your Cobra R black? I saw one parked at Home Depot in san ramon a few months ago, just curious.

Posted by jayl (Member # 185) on :

i bet its red [Smile]

Posted by FD3s (Member # 1428) on :

I guess all cobra R's are red, then. Come to think of it It was black with red interior and had some funky wheels and it said rousche, mabye stage II? or something like that. I got my cobra's confused. Thats one thing I promised myself I would not do.

Posted by jayl (Member # 185) on :

yeah roush's come in lots of colors.......cobra r's are red

off the wall question, but damn did anyone see that girl with the trailered grey w/blue stripes old skool mustang? LOL it was the one who all of us (like 10 guys) went to talk to at the same time, she was like 20 or somethin... Anyway, she was hot as hell AND loved stangs and racing [Eek!] , talk about dream girl [worship] .

she's like 16 or 17 i think, her name is missy.

I can't say that i've ever seen a sponsored car have a chain bolted to a motor. If anyone knows her, let he know that my friends and I have invented solid mounts for old mustangs if she wan't to buy some and get rid of that ghetto looking chain.

go to www.BadAsscars.com and look for her car

btw, who is Mel?

Posted by hidnn.o.s. (Member # 1219) on :

She is ALWAYS there with pops on Wednesday nights. She races in high school.

All 300 of the 2000 R's were Performancce Red when they left Dearborn. Here's some pics of mine. http://www.edweird.com/00r1.htm

The earlier R's in 93 and 95 were all white, I think.

I was parked near Missy's Mustang and did see her driving it around the parking lot a couple times. I love the "bumpity-bumpity" sound of a cammed motor.

Hi.. I just signed up although I met at least one of you last Saturday at Sac Raceway (btw thanks for letting me check out your Cobra R!).

Yeah.. too bad about the fog. I wanted to see you guys make some runs.

Hoping this weekend will be better. If it is anyone heading to the track?
