Got eight runs-

Best on Nitto's.
1.887 60ft
8.048 at 88.90mph
12.478 at 111.953mph

soooo close to 112.

Thanks to Joe (shade-tree) for lending the ET Streets for two runs. Too bad I didn't now what to do with them. Oh, well. Lots of street cars today and perfect weather!

Did MArk get 12's?

Posted by 2000BlackGT (Member # 283) on :

yeah, nice meeting you as well. I still need some more practice and I'll be golden [Wink]

Finally got a 1.9 60', my best ever so far and best time of the day was 13.4 @ 103.2 with my highest MPH at 103.88

Well, all I can say is practice practice!

glad you guys did ok! [Big Grin] ! i was having a horrible day [Frown] , i could not shift, missed shifts, etc..i truely sucked. My best today was 13.4 @108mph... I thought there was something wrong with the car, but Drew drove it twice and got a 13.3 and 13.1@110mph, so i can't blame the car. Unfortunately we didn't have time for any more runs, but i am pretty sure he would have gotten high 12s.
oh well..theres always next time. [burnout]

I ran a 14.4, I know not big news but it is the fastest I have ever run. I also had the pleasure of getting wasted by Jim (FasterDamnit) and an '03 Cobra, both very impressive cars. Special thanks go to Jim for giving me a few pointers on using my new(used actually) Nitto DR's. [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Nice to finally meet you Jim.
With the right valve events I see some real sweet numbers coming your way!

did mark hit 12's?????????????

Posted by FasterDamnit (Member # 442) on :

OK-
Here's the deal w/ Mark's times. Since he is testing a part for Fordmuscle, we've asked him to not say anything until the article comes out. To prevent the angry hoards from storming my home: I will say he is very happy with today's results. We hope to have the article (w/ very nice pics of his car) up by the end of the week. Guess the author needs to stop chatting and get back to work.

It was great seeing everyone today. Sure beats the hell out of work, eh?

12.4s continue to elude me [Frown]

1.710 60'
5.120 330'
7.982 @ 85.598 1/8 [Big Grin]
12.554 @ 107.957

pulled the passenger seat out later, developed an exhaust leak, and ran out of gas and still ran a 12.6 :S

This may be my last GT-40 iron day. On to TFS! [patriot]

Congrats Jim. Your MPH and ET is looking a lot like '90GT''s car....or old car I should say. Don't feel bad about shade-tree's ET streets. I think only he can cut good times with them.... 2.1 was my best on them after 4-5 passes [Eek!]

shade-tree - Installing the AFM cam as well, or just the heads with the stock Cobra cam? Are you going to run the RPM or regular intake with the TFS heads?

all at once. I'll try the RPM upper first, but I'll try the regular performer upper to see the difference before I settle on anything.
cobra cam is getting pitched down the hill and I'll degree the N-41 and everything.
all I need is a PS puller and I can get started.
I've got my TFS heads (with 2k miles) pretty well cleaned and ready to go. I've contemplated the worlds lightest sand roll job for a mirror finish but haven't started yet. I don't plan on removing any material, just going for the smooth finish.

IMHO, ET Streets require a lot of practice. I was never hooking on them well until my 3rd or 4th saturday test-n-tune.

The N41 would work quite well on a 109 intake centerline & will have more P to V clearance then 'straight up'.
Valve events for 109ICL:
Intake opens @ 2 BTDC
Closes @ 44 ABDC
Exhaust opens @ 45 BBDC
Closes @ 3 ATDC

This will move the 5 degrees of overlap right were it'll do the most scavanging. Instead of 5-0 BTDC if installed with the typical 4 degrees of advance. (106ICL)

Don't worry about it bro. Everyone has there off days. All I have to say is that shifter on the 03's is 5 miles away! [Wink] 3rd gear is quite a reach, for me at least [patriot]

I'm disappointed that I didn't get into the 12's with you car. On the second pass I started getting wheel hope and had to get out of the throttle. It will happen next time [Razz]

This is so very true Joe. I remember the days of bad 60's on ET Streets. Even some 2.0's [Eek!] Now its mid 1.6's like clockwork [patriot]
