Thanks Matt, The track was good. But that was all driver. [Big Grin] I'm stoked because that was with stock gears and nittos. I'm hopin with 4.10s and a better 60ft to hit a 12.99

your gonna need some slicks for a 12.9 along with the 4.10's and you need to remove some stuff from car get a rear seat delete kit i seriously doubt you will run a 12.9 with your current setup

We'll see. I really didn't think I would be able to run a 13.4 with my current setup, but I did and there is a little more in there. I'll get into the 12s on the Nitto's. I have a few mods lined up to get me there if I can't do it with the 4.10s. But I'm gonna try my hardest to do it with just the 4.10s.

Here are my times from last night. Up until last night I never made it into the 13's. BUT... last night was a great night. My car is stock except for the exhaust...

I1 : 2.101
I2 : 5.770
I3 : 8.833
MPH : 80.406
I4 : 11.455

E.T. 13.684

MPH 101.499

All on stock tires with 20psi in them. Man was it fun. I was grinning from ear to ear [Smile]

so he has never had a high stall verter before? If so it may take him some time to get used to that, but from the dyno it looks like that 533 is a TQ spike from a verter.... hehe
heads and cam package or what?

BTW did anyone see the red SS run 10.7? that was Jantzers from ls1tech.com! his car kicks ass.

The GTP has a K&N and exhaust(no headers), and a little extra boost thats about it. still on stock tires which suck haha. I need some headers and a throttle body, maybe when i get a job I'll be able to afford them lol. and some tires lol

I guess you're the one I was looking for. [Smile] I saw the 98cobra.com stickers on your car. I thought I'd stroll over here to see what you ended up with by the end of the night, and whammo.. Nick is on here too. (Hi Nick!)

I ended up only getting a 14.21 @ 96.21, but not so bad for my first time to the track ever.

Anyway.. congrats on breaking into the 13's!

Jim

My sister finally ran a 13, WOOOOOO.

On her final run she lined up with Thomas (cantcme) and beat him off the line bad (.5 to a .7 RT) then she ran a 13.8xx to a 13.7xx which was good enough to get her to the finish line first.
Pretty good for a completely stock trany and motor which haven't been touched in 33 years except for an edlebrock performer intake (since the one it came with was cracked).

Did anyone see Bowman run an 8.8xx after getting sideways right off the line. His 60' was still a 1.3!!! [Eek!] [Eek!]

FORD PARTS she put a 9" in her car and went from 2.80s to 3.70s and put some better tires on it. Basically gears and tires.

Yeah, I'll spare my list and post my best. It was the VERY first run I did, in that 980 degree weather, too! Hahah...

2.204 60ft
13.931 @ 101.057

Not my best time ever, but not too bad for a stock '00 GT. [Smile] I'm on street radials, too.. [Wink]

Oh yeah, and I kicked my friend's ass in the '01 Cobra, too! [Big Grin] Woohoo!! [dance]

Jim great times for the first time out... They will only get better. Hope to see you out there again soon. Don't forget to stop and say Hello.

Mark, Hope you are feeling better. Great racing this Saturday night. Talk to you soon. Elwin

Posted by Yellow94GT (Member # 431) on :

e-dogg - I think you are underestimating slicks a little bit. Mark ran that 13.484 with just a 1.939 60ft! Through some slicks on there and lose close to 2 tenths off the 60 and he's damn close to that 12.999 w/o gears! I'm saying Mark has made a good basic combo and its going 12.9's easily w/gears and slicks, (maybe even on DR's, if Mark can ever learn how to drive [Wink] [Big Grin] )

Not enought...grudge nights usually get more!!?!?!?! I got 7 and was so excited to get so many.

Test and tune I only get 4.

I don't mess around either, I line right back up...this isn't social hour with the girls, even if I have to sit in my car by myself it's cool, cause I'm gonna race.

Yeah I went out there and broke my car....but i fixed it now. Is the next grudge night in July? If it is, what exact date.

Anyways my best ever run was at Sears at a 15.1 and by the next time i go out I will have my 3.73's installed, have the shift kit in, and have the rear seat delete kit done. Hopefully low 14's with those mods and what I already have done. [Roll Eyes] hopefully...

Nope, next Grudge Night is this Saturday - June 22nd! I'll be back again.. [Wink] Then it's July 6th, and then July 27th, that I know of so far. Hope to see you all out there! Look for me and say "HI", I'm the Laser Red '00 GT with the 98Cobra sticker on the center bottom of my rear window... [Big Grin]

Alex,

I really didn't change anything in my driving. I dropped the tire pressure down. If everything at work is going good, i'm going to try to make it out there tomorrow night. I have to fly out Saturday, but if my mission gets cancelled I'll be out there then. Stop by and say hello. My license plates say "SAMI LYN" Take care, Elwin

Posted by LaserStang (Member # 353) on :

Hey Elwin, what did you drop your pressure down to? Do you think it helped or hindered your time? And finally: after you dropped your pressure, did you rev & drop the clutch at any certain RPM? [Big Grin]

Thanks,
~Brian

Posted by My01Stang (Member # 1044) on :

Hey Brian,

I dropped the tire pressure to 20psi. It really helped my hold on to the track. I would rev about 1800rpm's then dump the clutch. This worked for me. Everytime I tried to launch at or above 2000rpm I would spin. So, I found that 1800 works for me. But, I'm not that good of a driver [Big Grin] Talk to you soon. let me know when you are heading back up there. I leave on a mission for a week then I'll be home after that.

Posted by LaserStang (Member # 353) on :

Awesome, I'm going to have to try that next time! [Big Grin] I'm going up again with a different group of friends this weekend (the 22nd) - so if you're still around, I'll look for you at the track... Take care.

~Brian
