wassup I was the dude driving the Black GT. that shit was fun. who ever was driven the Dakota has mad handles I am not going to lie but if I wanted to I could have left you guys. Its more fun when there is a line of cars or in your case trucks swerving thru traffic. That dude in the cobra gave up. and the homie in the white gt gave a good chase.

it was a really nice there out at the track yesterday but no 11's for me my best was a

12.2 @ 116 with 1.9 60foot

But that was not the bad part of my day
at about 10 pm thomas form nothern cal LS1
called me up to go to the races I had a feeling I should not go but I went couse he said there was a alot of LS1's out there with some Z-06 and a few supras so I went

When I got there wicked SS was goin to run a supra on 880 so I went to see I lined up on the fast line then it was the supra, wicked SS, and a Z06 they took off a head of me WICKED SS was in front bye like 2-3 car lenghts then the vet, supra , and me taking video in the back I had 2 passengers with me
I let it rip to play catch up I was gaining on the supra when I slipped it into 5th gear I guess the car could not take the load and blew a ROD !!!!!! smoke was every where
I guess back to the drawing board I guess ill try to see whats wrong with my original motor I now this one blew the rods and the othere one I think it was the heads couse the bottom had been redone but hope fully I can make one motor out of 2

lates

you put the biggest smoke screen ive ever seen on the freeway.......i thought someone bapped or somethin........but anyway, sucks man, too much boost for a stock motor? or did something else go wrong?

just to much load on the motor
the boost was fine ive been runing it like this for like 4 months it was fine when ever i got on it but i guess the motor or well the rode just snaped

I was doing fine I was cathching the supra but when i shifted to 5th it went 500 rpms more and the rode broke

Posted by PunkINa5.SLOW (Member # 10) on :

You already tore it apart and are sure it was a rod?

did not have to there was a rod sticking out of the oil pan

Posted by PunkINa5.SLOW (Member # 10) on :

That could have been from piston or crank/main failure.

Either way bad news if there is a rod sticking out of the oil pan

yea iam goin to just swap the heads onto my old motor wich I bent the valves on

the bottom on that has all the good sutff
forged crank, steel rods, and Brc Forged alluminum Pistons
I wanted to wait and redo my heads on that motor but i guess now ill just do some mild porting on the heads and put it together
make one motor out of 2

Steve! You made it here. That was one of the hardest sales pitches to get you on the board. I wanted to say what an awesome and generous man you are. While I was sitting there talking to you, I realized how much I want to be like you when I am older. I want to be able to give kids just a few moments of absolute joy with cars. I would be out at the track in two weeks, but I just blew my clutch. And remember how I said I really didn't have any money? Yeah, so this doesnt help so I'm trying to scrape together money to get this clutch fixed and back on the road. But I hope to see you on the 17th, and don't worry, I've got my eye on Nate for you...

nope, i dont powershift. My clutch took a shit at least partly because of my own fault, but i have reasons to believe it was the clutch that failed as well. I never made the 13 sec timeslip, 14.02!!!

To all the boyz I rode up to Sac. with, right on.
Long story, kinda embarassing, there will be a next time .

Hey Kev, what'd u run?????

Posted by THE COUG (Member # 743) on :

Hey guy's I am looking at the 60 ft times and et's of some of your times and thought I would give you some info you may not know. For every tenth in the 60 ft is 2 tenths in et. So example you go 12.20 at a 1.9 sixty foot pute some slicks on it or get it to hook and nock that 60 ft down to 1.7 and you will run 11.80.
Just some food for thought.

I'll be buying some Nitto 555Rs this weekend. Finally I'll be off street tires and cutting some decent 60ft times.

Posted by Yellow94GT (Member # 431) on :

Hey Mark, I'll let you in on some info.....run those nittos somewhere around 22-20lbs. Don't go lower like I did when I first got my tires. 1.8's BABY! Good luck, I'll be out there to watch.

Posted by THE COUG (Member # 743) on :

i KNOW YOU ALREADY BOUGHT THE NITTO'S BUT i AM JUST CURRUIS WHY NOT A SET OF SLICKS??

When did you change your screen name? Did you install the box yet? How did your car come out?

Because like 94yellowgt said:

Its WAY worse on an F-body, on our cars you'll break the rear in less than 4 trips to the track if you launch it hard enough to even warrent using slicks. Seen it happen and pushed those cars off the track WAY too many times.
