As the title says. Im looking at a few cobras back east and some have a little bit of white salt corrision it looks like on the undercarriage. Can it be removed and how? Or is it stuck there forever?

Salt corrosion as in rust?

There are electrolysis methods you can use for removing rust from parts. Look for videos and other information on this rust removing technique. You should know the process weakens the metal though.

There is no rust. Just looks like a little bit of salt corrosion that hasnt salted yet. I was looking into the strong arm fluid that eliminates rust and corrosion.

I grew up in Ohio where they use salt on the roads every winter. I was a Ford mechanic back there too. I can tell you that you don't want a car from back east.

Absolutely. I'd never buy anything from midwest/east where the roads are salted....unless you're looking for a beater. I bought my truck here knowing it wasn't gonna be anything I'd hang onto for too much longer once I move back out west. Underneath it, the thing looks like it was parked at the bottom of the ocean.

3 winters in Dover Delaware and 2 winters in Germany my Mustangs radiator support and a few brackets near the gas tank took a beating from road salt. It didn't matter how often I hit the underbody car wash in the winters the car got some rot and still has some today. Luckily that is all I found and AED did some corrosion control for me while it was in their hands.

What did the corrosion control run you?

My car was there to have the motor swapped and fuel tank swapped and then tuned. I ended having them install a k-member and coil overs and they found some corrosion. Asked if I wanted it to be treated. I just asked them to knock the rust off with a wire wheel and the treated with POR-15.

I don't know what the line item charge was tho. I'll look it up and see if Drew out it on the receipt.

Found the invoice and it wasn't a large expense but they did a lot of work for me.

I wouldn't ask them to only treat rust and go on my way.

My other post was just a note on how bad the salt is and my car only seen 5 snowy winters.

Any pics of it now or before and after?
