Where are the good deals at? Have a good amount of down payment to drop. [burnout] [burnout] Any advice from knowledgeable folks? Looking for used older models 2010 newer. What should I look for; & what should i stay away from.

I used to own a 2012, until I found out just how much better the 2013 and 2014's are!

Currently own a 2014, glass roof, recaros, nav, track pack etc. I love the car, don't waste your money on a prior model, imo.

What's the difference between the 11/12 and 13/14?

Some matter far more than others, but here is a quick copy/paste.

Highlights to me, the added 100+ horsepower, more power available from the powerplant, better handling, electronically adjustable steering and suspension

Mine mad 631 to the wheels, with "nothing" done to it, and it's easy to drive on the street!

Damn 13/14s are that much better? Guess im gunna have to wait. I was looking at 10/11s but the newer ones are way more STACKED. Supercharged 5.8 sounds BAD ASS. Thanks for all of the input. [burnout]

Well I'll be dammed. I honestly thought all they changed between those years were just visual stuff. Learn something new every day. [patriot]

From a tuning aspect the 11-12 have a higher ceiling the 13-14 are pretty well maxed out and ready to go.

Watch this video, this is the most informative guy on Mustangs I've ever watched on YouTube...he breaks it down

That video just confused the fuck outta me. So you can make 800hp with a blower on the newer 5.0s? Stay away from 2010s. And 13/14s being maxed out? Well sob.

It's his opinion but dudes pretty knowledgeable, personally speaking I bought the 13 GT500 because I wanted one built and ready to go. The only complaint I have on the car is the rear gearing , I wonder how it would go with 373s instead

I went on SVT performance and I see problems with transmissions and expensive clutch upgrades? I saw a post about a 6r80 swap. It has me wondering now. I was reading the post about the guy trading in his gt500 for a newer coyote 5.0 [Confused]

How does the gt500 feel compared to ur old coyote 5.0 ? Thanks

Post the 1/4 mile #s 👍

It's night and day with my old Coyote which was NA though. There's dealers selling 700 HP S550's for 40k not California compliant though

I bet; and a Shelby will always be a Shelby. Hows the tranny on that 13 do u dog it a lot or baby it.

The 700hp version is not CA. compliant
But the 545hp ( or something) version is cali legal.

The tremac is much better than the Mt82 and reverse is where it should be. Fist gear is crazy you can run it to 60 mph no problem. No missed shifts like the MT82 which is still in the S550. Overall I baby it though, for the money it cost me shit ...

What do u mean?

😬 I hear u. Some ppl baby those cars. And some ppl push them hard to the limit. Im taking all theese issues into account. I saw guys posting a lot about missed shifts and going automatic wich seems really odd to me. Must be a BIG issue.

11.356 @ 122.69

I learned that even when you turn the advance Trac off, it still limits you from launching hard. Will eventually get a tune to eliminate the restrictions.

Not terrible from a bone stock street car with tires

I'm partially in the market for a GT500 aswell. The market for these cars are straight up laughable though, Nobody wants to be realistic with their prices. Its worse than 03/04 Cobras. Especially when it comes to dealers. Asking $35k for an 07-09 GT500 when you can find 13/14 GT500's in the low 40s if you look hard enough. I even see 10-12's priced within $2k of 13/14s. Its laughable.

Probably has to do with the insane mark ups people paid for the 07-09. IIRC, Dealers marked these cars up like $20-$30k because people thought it was going to be a limited run. Now that 13/14 GT500 prices have hit their depreciation period 07-12 prices are starting to look plain stupid.

13 and 14's optioned out with low miles are still easily at 50k and above. I bought my 2012, drove it for 2 years and sold it back to Carmax for nearly what I'd paid originally from that same dealership. They hold their value very well, atleast the 2011's to 2014's.

Here is what I would do:

1. Stay away from 2010s, they are heavier iron block cars.

2. If you plan on modding and upgrading the blower at any point to get over 750rwhp / E85 / Whipple etc...go with 2011-12

3. If you are the latest tech offered in a GT500, great power and basic bolt ons, go with 2013-2014 GT500

4. the 2012 and above have recaro seat options available

5. Always go for the performance pack option to get the oil cooler / differential coolers for better on track performance.

Thats Hauling Ass; I was looking at 10/11/12s those 13/14s are pricey. I remember the GT40s they based the gt500s engines from the gt40s right?

iirc the older 5.4s used the ford gt heads

gt40s are the old 60s super cars
