Haha I would lean toward either a Honda or acura they are probably the most reliable

Car still runs drives perfect even with the amount of miles on it just has the start issue that doesn't keep the car stranded or from starting ,just annoying is all .. But still a great commuter 😉👌 I would trust it to drive across the country also

I've had a couple different Prius and they're actually really reliable. Can't complain about the MPGs of your a commuter!

2000-2006 Nissan Sentras are decent commuters. You can find them in the $3000-$4000 range in good shape. I've had my 2006 for a couple years now, it has 197k miles on it and everything is original except the battery. Still runs like new. I get an average of 35 MPG according to the gauge.

I use a 2002 Lexus ES300. Simple, good on gas, boring as hell but gets me where I am going without any hiccups. I;m thinking about selling it actually if you are interested.

We have a '99 & 2011 Civic. Love em both. '99 is kinda beat looking, but still running very good @ almost 240k. If u can step up id get an 8th gen Civic.

22re pick up should be reliable and rather cheap to maintain. Replacement parts at the local auto parts stores don't cost too much and replacement motors are a dime a dozen. I've never worked on one but have heard second hand that they'r relatively easy to work on. The closest I can vouch is my uncle's 1992 he bought brand new and is still kicking 300k miles later.

EDIT: Personally, I have an 06 Accord V6 as a DD. I would find a 03-07 V6 coupe in manual if you can. Mine is a six speed sedan but those would fall out of your price range. Also look for a 02-03 CL Type S in manual (J32A1 motor, I believe) with lower miles.

I also have a 1992 SC400 that is just about to turn 180k and still runs better than many cars half its age but it also has had all its maintenance issues addressed by previous owners so I am lucky in that regard. I previously owned a 1996 SC300 with the 2JZGE motor (non turbo 3.0) and those are bulletproof as well as long as you take care of the maintenance. Both SC's (I6 and V8) would get shitty mileage though. I averaged about 18-21MPG in my SC300 in mixed driving.

I have a prius...and it is a pretty gay car. But the cost to run the car is 1/4 of what it costs to run a mustang...Insurance, maintenance, gas,etc.. You can find a salvage title prius on Craigslist. Within your budget. And with all the money you save... Build a muscle car!

That's probably your best bet in terms of reliability for a daily driver
