Need to check forcodes first, too see if it gives you misfire codes.

Any time my new edge had a misfire issue it was due to a bad coil over plug. I would get a new one plug and start ruling out plugs. It doesn't always throw a CEL.

I was thinking of trying that

Swap the coils from one to number two if the misfire goes to number 2 then it's a coil.

My brother's mustang was just misfiring. We found out that the spark plug wires were arching to the headers causing it to misfire. Start your car at night and see if you see them arching to the headers.

Good Luck,

Charles [patriot]

an 01gt doesn't have spark plug wires and the plugs are about a foot away from the exhaust on the top of the engine along the intake manifold...
