I had a reckless driving ticket that got reduced to a exhibition of speed. I ended up with 2 points on my record and wasn't eligible for traffic school. I think I paid a $300 fine too, but I didn't lose my car.

Had one on my cbr, was passing multiple cars on baseline and one was a snitch ass undercover. Radioed it out and Roseville pd swarmed me in town. Plead not guilty, get a lawyer or pubic defender and try to plea for a lower charge. Ended up having 40 hours community service and a fine. No big deal

Yeah I got a lawyer. Paid $1,000 no other fines and I still have a clean record. Didn't even have to go to court

I got an exhibition of speed ticket once. I fought it and won. It all depends on what exactly you did as the legal definition of EOS is pretty narrow.

I talked the cop who pulled me over into making it "unsafe starting" on the ticket, haha.

This goes to show you it's all about the Benjamin's. It's not about safety or anything else, it's about taking money out of your wallet one way or another.

It has been years since I got mine. But it was 2 points, $300 fine, and iirc 5 years on my record. But this was like 7-8 years ago. So maybe they leave it on your record longer...

Never had one but 13 years ago I was handed a ticket for (observed) 108 MPH on HWY 4. Clocked me at 85. 2 points, no traffic school, $280 fine. Didn't lose my car or go to jail. My first ticket and won't forget it. Guess I got a slap on the wrist compared to just being caught spinning a donut.

exhibition of speed 2pts w/fine on record for 5 years mine cost me a total of 1500 including a 30 day impound back in 2006 also its a Misdemeanor not an Infraction

In Feb I was pulled over by the Sheriffs department speed 130mph I called ticketbust.com and hired them to help fight it by {trial by declaration}
out come case dismissed

I was caught passing a semi doing 65mph in a semi I called ticket bust again and thay helped give them a call their track record is 99.9 dismissal rate

so I received a letter in the mail and it is from the citing officer saying my exhibition od speed was changed to a reckless driving do you think jail time is involved? I'm going to be honest initially I was evading the police and came to my sences shortly pulled over but I was not charged with evading the police..

I think a wreckless driving charge is less of an offense than EOS

Posted by stanger00 (Member # 13818) on :

That new charge sounds like a misdemeanor instead of an infraction.

Edit: Internet lawyers say reckless driving is a lesser offense. Lower fine, less jail time and no community service. EOS higher fines, more jail time and community service.

Also they're both criminal charges neither are infractions.

Get a lawyer if you don't want to go to jail, since it's a possibility.
