Now we got punk bitches talking shit on fake accounts. It seems like back then people actually took pride in their cars. Nowadays it seems like abusing the absolute fuck outta your car at the sideshows is cool.

Oh, the good ol days!

That was either at one of the Cal State Hayward shows or at a Show n Shine at Great Mall. There were lots of nice cars out back then. Now all the nice cars are stored away from all these kids looking to steal them.

I remember when PurpleNotch was getting parted out and I was a broke college student. [Frown]

I remember being a freshmen in HS in 2003 when I bought MM&FF and John91Coupe's toy was on the cover. I may have that somewhere at home, actually. Many more true enthusiasts back then. Now the egotistical, social media-driven, do it for the macho or "lifestyle" presentation lay rubber unabashed rather than for a true intrinsical passion of the cars/hobby [Frown]

I don't keep many old magazine issues, but I have the ones with John's car, purplenotch, mine and a couple other issues with local cars that I know/used to know.

Good times back in the day for sure!
9cobra8 was mainly responsible for making those shows happen. He got all the approvals and the event insurance and never made any money on them...
Ill have to talk to him soon to see if we can get another cafords get together or even a show. Im back in a mustang but no show car here (my daily driver) 99 s281 with an s trim.

What's so hard about setting up meets again? Let's get something going on the events section.

Well cafords is a collective, it's all over, we would most likely have a Saturday night/Sunday afternoon meet most likely Hayward based off central location?

Kudos to the guys who are trying to setup meets like how they were before, but guaranteed, you won't have a turn out even close to how they were before. Many people don't like going to Cafords events anymore because of all the lurkers and thugs looking to steal people's cars. It's the sad truth.

I hear you on that but with today's technology we can almost eliminate the theft of mustangs will cost a few bucks but it's possible...

I say we do come together and rebuild the culture that we all loved so much

I am willing to do what I can to bring it back, I have helped a few serious people to keep their mustangs going, but I think the main reason beside money is the smog, just getting too much deal with these smog check points and ref tickets, who has the time to deal with all that drama, the good old days were nice driving a Foxbody around and a cop didn't care if it passed smog

I still have my shirt too but it has a few holes in it! After that it seems like the good people were drowned out by the guys swinging their buckets which lead to the cops breaking shit up.

Yep, I remember going to those with my first Mustang - I think 1999 and we would go to the meetup at Fosters Freeze hang out until late afternoon, then all meet back up at the Burger King in Livermore at 10pm. Get a big group and go out to Tesla road and race all night.

Before the ghetto trash invaded and ruined it all.
