Why does it seem background checks take a bajillion years? I'm waiting on one for a Loss Prevention position, been roughly 2 weeks, what the hell? Anyone have any insight?

Buahahah 2 weeks and your tripping already. FBI background on fast track takes about 18 months.

Just depends. Mine with the state took 4 weeks and I heard that is faster than the norm.

It takes minutes. Unless they interviewing people about you which can prolong the process

You are most likely waiting for someone to actually do it (paper is sitting on someone's desk and they are either too busy or doing a lot ahead of yours)

This is what I was thinking, cause my friend had to get one done to move to Hawaii(lady he moved with runs a bed and breakfast/turtle sanctuary) he paid $20 online and it was done on the spot.

Its for a loss prevention job in retail? If so, I would so they moved on with another applicant. Retail LP pay what?, $12 an hour. Im sure their not spending two weeks over that.

I have, after the first week and a half he said their HR was on vacation, then just last Friday the guy was on vacation. Called today and no one will be in until 3. So I'm gonna call a bit later. I'm a reasonable guy, if I'm not getting the job just say so, that way I don't dwell on some false hope. I do have a misdemeanor on my record but I was honest and upfront about it on my application, in my first interview and my second interview.

If more then 7 years most misdemeanors an felony's don't show up on a back ground check

You must be taking about a credit report. Criminal history just doesn't fall off....its not a moving violation we're talking about.

Sounds like you're just a troll. Please stay off my thread. Don't need your negativity. They wouldn't have had me interview with the loss prevention manager and the hiring manager.

Pretty sure I haven't been contributing to the negative troll role as of late. A big thank you to all who have responded genuinely.
