Thats a lot of hp factory. But the problem with amercans cars like this one is that to much hp for the car. Btw ford is bringing to the USA the focus rs with thr ecoboost engine that should be a fun little car.

You a damn commie? Never to much hp. And that are what American Muscle cars are all about. Big power, in big cars.

Its getting stupid now. How about make the cars lighter and functional instead of raising the HP and adding more weight? Bet this thing wouldnt even be able to beat a C6Z.

The curb weight is on par with full size muscle cars of the late 60's and 1970's.

Can't really make cars any lighter (factory-wise) in terms of safety standards, I'll take the high hp anyday

Go aluminum like the f150

Given the fact that the current Challenger SRT8 weighs about 4200 pounds already (without a supercharger), the Hellcat won't even match the power to weight ratio of the current GT500. Those cars are pigs. It'll need every one of those 707 ponies.

This.

The excessive weight of modern muscle cars is partly safety, partly their ever increasing huge size to fit the average obese American in the cabin, and partly manufacturers building them out of cheap, heavy materials.

Everyone makes the argument that cheaper materials lead to cheaper prices... But I'm betting the new lighter aluminum F150 will only be a few thousand more than the outgoing model... Land Rover recently did the same thing with the Range Rover lineup... Dropping some 800lbs off the current generation, without increasing the price substantially versus the outgoing models.

The new M3/4 weighs the same as the E36 M3. There's ways to cut weight.

Rovers saw roughly a $10k price increase for like models with the intro of the new aluminum bodies. Although driving a 2013 vs a 2012 Range Rover supercharged was night and day difference in performance with relatively no change in hp ratings. There's also the factor of body work. I longer work for rover but as of 3 months ago when I left we had to send all aluminum work to stockton, where the only certified aluminum body shop in the region is.

New 2015 aluminum-bodied F150 pricing announced. Price increase is minimal.

Resurrect this one. Now that some time has gone by the Hellcats are factory beasts. Still big but in a straight line the GT500, ZL1, and even neck and neck with the new Z06....(from a roll).

1/4's in the 10's too.

^ They are nice but people are paying way over MSRP for those things.

The hellcat is about $85,000 on ebay, I'm sorry that is just way to much for a Dodge.

You can't judge a car by that, just because few rich people bought a fast car doesn't mean they can drive it.

If U can't roll race with an auto then U shouldn't own the car!
