Thought I'd share my progress with some fellow Ford enthusiasts - this is my '72 I have been working on the last couple of years on and off. It's just about ready for some road testing - been a LONG time coming....

Stock frame was cut at the firewall and a custom Mustang II based IFS sitting in between 3.5" z-notched front rails was installed (all scratch built by myself and my dad), rear has a 6" c-notch, triangulated 4-link w/coilovers. Engine is a warmed up 351w backed up to a T-5 from my old '89 5.0, stock 9" rear with 3.50 gears. I hope to have it out at a local show this weekend in EG Park. Building this truck has been more rewarding than anything else I have ever built. By far the most elaborate build I have taken on as my fabrication skills are at a very novice level - my dad has over 40 years of fabrication/engineering experience. I could not have completed it without his help, that is for SURE. Now we get to finish his '40 pickup and do some cruising!!!!

I'll post some better pics once I get them just wanted to share my progress....

Thanks guys - this has been one of the most challenging projects I have taken on. I've modified the $hit out of previous cars with bolt-ons, but this is my first build from the ground up. I pretty much turned a farm truck into a street rod, which required a phuck ton of chassis modifications. I’m just happy it goes down the road in a straight line HAHA

Here's a pretty crappy video of me taking it down the street for the first time earlier this week

http://youtu.be/gGuvOA8Qd98

This pic was taken a little over a month ago - I've been camping out in my garage every night for 4-5 hours a night to get this thing going. For those of you who have put this kind of work into a car/truck, you know the amount of satisfaction I am starting to get by seeing some major progress.

 -

1969 351 Windsor – bored .030 over, Crower hyd cam, 3-angle valve job (stock 2bbl heads), Edelbrock intake/carb – has anyone else ever seen the single carb small Shelby Cobra air cleaner like this one? This is the only one I’ve ever seen.

 -

Interior – old school Recaro bucket seats, shortened stock column, custom triple gauge pod on the dash, removed dash pad and will be painting interior black.

 -

I’m at work now and don’t have many great pics on my HDD, but I should get a chance later tonight to post some more.

Love how these pickups are becoming more popular

Yeah, I am starting to see a lot of them pop up online. Problem is that the amount of work that is required to lower these trucks chases a lot of people away. Stock twin I beams up front compared to a C10 already having IFS. I love the C10's but they are everywhere. At least with this I'm pretty sure I won't see one like it at a stop light anywhere around here....and if I do that's all good too - I'd rather see these trucks get saved then to just rot away like this one was doing...KEEP EM ON THE ROAD!!!!

I live and work in EG so you might see this ol' pig in person if you're still in town. I'm trying to take it down to EG Park this weekend for a local car show (In-Progress class).
