I'm interested in buying a new car. Specifically the 2015 dodge challenger srt8 hellcat. Doesn't come out till next year or late this year so I said fuck it and put my name on the waiting list at the local dealer. Right now I have a 2002 z71 suburban worth about 8-10k but don't really want to trade it in. What's the deal with doing a deposit on a car that's not available yet? Any pointers?

What did the dealer tell you? If your on a waiting why didn't you ask what you needed from the dealer? You dont put a deposit till you put your order in.

I didn't order it I just put my name on their call list when it comes in. How much is a good deposit to start with?

no worse than spending 60k for a "mustang" Actually the car looks pretty cool. I'm curious to see how they perform

Most dealers only ask for a $500 fully refundable deposit when it's time to place the actual order. Once the car actually arrives you decide if you want to buy it. At this point you work out the financing, down payment etc.

that doesn't normally work on special high demand cars. they aren't gonna waste there time when there are for gonna have a buyer for a car like that.

I'm thinking of going up there every couple of weeks with some cash. Who knows I could 5k or more on the books by the time the car actually drops. And for those who think it will decrease in price. I would still be a very happy driver if it did. 600+ supercharged horsepower IRS and super flashback style moder muscle car? I love mustangs but if you can't respect a hellcat then your just a dick rider [patriot]

Dodge needs to quit dicking around and offer the challenger with a v10/6spd. Price it 15k less then the viper and call it a day.

Hows the hellcat?

Posted by Frank.JD.Perez (Member # 12650) on :

Pretty sure I saw a hellcat the other night in the city. Was pretty dope no doubt about it. Was red like all the ads and commercials and I saw that little cat emblem on the side; as well on another note saw a McLaren earlier that day and my first s550. Yesterday was a great day indeed for car porn
