maybe Borelli just tuned it and Didnt build it. It could be a mitch matched combo. who knows....

The engine is by fordstrokers (same as mine).
From what I recall there was another person involved with the engine build that screwed it up. TPS was tasked with fixing it.

My numbers were low as well, luckily Kurgan figured out it was a timing issue. Can't say this was the case with DJs engine, he had more "go fast" parts than I did.

well here is my take on this on why it made low numbers. At this point the compression isnt identified so who knows it could be extremely low, dont know anything bout exhaust system, crappy bbk cold air, dont know what throttle body or maf is on it, then theirs the cam specs and whos cam is it? That could be a big part of it.Another thing that i noticed was that he is running a very mistmatched head to intake combo that is if he is running the tfs 170s with the victor, but what most people arent realizing is that the motor peaked at 5200 rpm or so and with a victor that is just not right. I would say valve float, improper cam, crappy cam specs etc, could be incorrect spark plug gap and, could be clutch slippage, hot hot was it? Low readying dyno, crappy tune, what gears are in it? To many variables here, but if tps was to come in here and elaborate on all the things i just identify or asked i would be much easier to diagnose and get to the low hp problem solving. I dont think it has anything to do with woodys engine build, he builds solid motors.

^That's why I ask what cam it has.

The car used to belong to hawaii5.0 on this forum.

The cam was a custom grind by camshaft innovations - Jay Allen (before his rep got all jacked up) Compression is 10:1

here is the for sale thread

Not the same place.
the shop side of tps has merged with Borelli Motorsports.
As of Nov. 2013 Borelli purchased the shop side of TPS.
TPS still exists, but is an online parts store.
All the techs from tps including myself are now at Borelli.
Place is bigger and better than before.
In the case of this car....I remember it well.
Short story is....customer purchased shortblock 347 from fordstrokers.
Customer called me and asked for pricing on installing the motor.
Price was given and customer decided to take the car to a gas station mechanic who could could it cheap.
Long story short, the car came to us for tuning.
We found a whole slew of things wrong, including the engine covered in oil with less than 2k on it.
As the customer was a good friend of mine at the time I told him we would attempt to tune it.
This is the best we could do, given what it had.
Wrong intake/head combo, wrong cam for engine build, wrong gaskets, etc.
Numbers were low, but it was all that could be done with the setup it had.
This was one we should not have touched, but as I said, at the time he was a good friend of mine and I wanted to try and help.

Sometime when you don't build it......it becomes a headache. Why do you think the other big name shops wont touch fox's anymore....because of things just like this.
We even changed our policy with them as well since our move.

i hate to say it but 80% of fox owners take the short cut route and end up with shitty numbers just like this....gotta pay to play [patriot]

bending for friends was a hard lesson and the only reason for 99 of my problems or comebacks, learned that a long time ago to never cut corners on anything for anybody
