x2. Thought I was missing something, LOL. Does it even make power to make it worth spinning to that RPM? All HP, no torque powerband?

Damn I did have to watch that again to watch his speed and not the revs. Shit is hella slow but loud. Maybe that's what got me the first time was sound and getting loose. Probably has stock gears or just no power where needed like most cobras

Look at most vids on the net of in car cameras, cause your not there it seems slow believe me,been watching vids of cars that trap anywhere from 120-130 but the in car makes the car seem slow, but a car that traps 120-130 is far from a slouch in my eyes..James or anyone else with a decent modded car, post a vid of your speedo at WOT and I bet It seems like a 15 second non-pi gt lol,the car I posted does seem to have stock gears but it's using every bit of that 7900 power band! Common it's got fr500 high rev parts for a reason...

you are correct..my car didn't pull like that... id beat that car! your showing one vid and one run.. how about the run where he gave me the hit but couldn't get around me? that was the only termi that ever beat me..my car was far from ridiculously fast.. also just because the tach says 8k doesn't mean its 8k.. my friends 96 cobra was off by 500rpms

Posted by SIC9250 (Member # 8216) on :

^ lol,you may have beat a 03/04 cobra or 2 but don't make it out like you have ran through a bunch of em,your car made maybe 15 -20 more rwhp than my buddies track whore 03 Mach and he had STOCK cams and 410s and his best trap was a 111/112..Pulley/exhaust ONLY cobras can trap more than this easy so the ONE vid ONE race your brother has on YT where you beat that cobra is irrelevant in my eyes considering you got drug in the 1st vid by what looks to be Jason's cobra with a SRA..idk how you really think your car could beat the one posted with stock CR/heads,crower cams and the same gears..maybe those cobras you have beaten all over has raised your confidence a bit too much lol,I'll say it again as I have in the past, head out to sac raceway and show us what that Mach does..Btw Fricks caddy trapped like 113ish and beat you aswell, close races but you fell behind..

The run against frick was my worst run... Did not have good tires to practice 2nd gear rolls..not used to the car and the t3650 3rd gear.. Looking back at it I believe 2nd gear roll was my best chance at winning but all good.. My ecu always acted up never let me past 6800.. The last run with him I lost by a bumper..and I beat epic every time. Last runs I was getting better at shifting.

The in car you posted of mine.. Is with a 235 pound passenger.. Old aed tune that was down 20 hp and 430s that sucked other then make your rpms fly up..

Back to your post it looks ok quick...tires are slipping so appears to look quicker then it is...once it catches grip the mph slow way down...

Posted by 79 cobra (Member # 10137) on :

I known for sure my mach1 would beat that and I agree that tach probaly off by at least 200 to 400 rpm

A few grand into a SBF 302 will build you a stout N/A close to 400rw 347. A few grand into a B head N/A 32V will net you what, 325-330rw, if you are lucky? You said it yourself Brandon, too hard to make good power with those motors N/A. Yeah they sound good, & rev high, but leave much else to be desired, IMO....

First of all... how was that video impressive? All I saw was 300rw revving to.... 7500. Sure revving to the moon and banging gears is fun, but it's not fast lol

For gurjit, the only reason why the 4.30 didn't work in your car was because you couldn't keep up with the gear and you liked to do 3rd rolls... 4.30 gear in a 32v is the way to go!

I had 4.30 in my 01 cobra with 96-98 cams and shifted it at 7200 every gear.... and on a full bolt on car and 150 shot was only good for 119mph...

Very true Dustin but good luck smogging it and using it as an efficient daily driver, been there done that honestly would take a nasty n/a 32v over a nice h/c/I stroker pushrod SBF anyday..also what fox with headers/tune/gears/minor suspension mods and slicks runs bottom 12s [Confused] (Shit,my 99 cobra went 12.50s with exhaust ,slicks and a SRA only and it had 355s )I for one on a budget love simple bolt-ons rather than a whole engine rebuild, and a couple grand for a engine build [Confused] try 3-5k plus for a nice 347..maybe with used parts and machine work hook-ups a little cheaper..New heads alone are over a grand, and GOOD crank, rods, piston setup is another 1500-2k,not to mention machine work,upper/lower manifold, exhaust, clutch, trans (t5 lol) the list goes on an on can't just build a motor with no supporting goodies..

$700 stroker kit from ADPerformance, machine work, $400, used aluminum heads for $800-$1000. Used intake, $300, NA power pipe $200, used long tubes, $250, gaskets & other shit... There you go about $3k & it will shit on a built N/A 32v... May not pass smog, but it will spank the 32V on the way to the illegal smog spot LOL... Just sayin...

I just know SBF go fast parts are so plentiful & you can find them used all day, so I rarely buy new shit for my fox.... with my 331 build, I did go new on the internals, but even that was under $1500, & I could have went cheaper & still been fine, but I went with all 4340 forged shit, just gotta search around for the good deals.

Also, a T45 aint much better than a T5... Both are junk LOL

I have to agree, most people that have build 32V would never do it again! Yes I'm one that put about 10K+ into my old 96 (not including the blower). I can't even imagine if I would have put that money in a 5.0!

I honestly would rather have a decent bolt on 32v than a modded to hell pushrod motor. Been there done that, Couldnt stand it. I love the "stock" feel of a 32v.

Posted by *EPIK* (Member # 7481) on :

Ok all bullshit aside, 32v's are cool, I've owned a couple, both B & C headed cars, & out the box they are definitely ALOT better than the old SBF, very smooth, fun, decently fast cars, & make great DD's, I will give you that. But, I would prefer a modded pushrod motor if building a fast N/A car was my goal.

Just my 2 cents....

I'm not a 32V hater, just not my thing after owning a couple from 2005-2011. Any real driver would've gotten my car to a 12.0, maybe even an 11.99, but I'm not a good example of the best driver, plus my car had a fucked up tach & no weight transfer.

Not too sure about Chris's Cobra, which Chris?

That 03 Cobra better have been close to stock getting pulled like that by an NA 32V, & yes I know who Naz is, remember I was modding one of these in 2007, & quickly found out N/A mods weren't very plentiful, easy, or cheap so I kept mine bolt on only.

I'm sure that car is extremely gutted, & tuned very aggressively!

I'd def take a NA push rod SBF over a NA mod motor. But I also like old cars with no smog BS. I don't see the need, nor the point in putting a smaller displacement motor in my car. Not to mention the cost to convert over to one.

I've ridden in a few, drove a Roush once, seen pleanty @ the track...... Unless they are boosted, they are high winding screamers ill give you that. But I've seen my fair share of push rod motors that can spin too.

The most recent dyno on my '97 Cobra it put down 298rwhp and 294 rwtq untuned with the following mods...

WMS Cold Air intake
Accufab throttle body ( just for looks no real HP there!)
Steeda pulleys
IMRC Deletes
Aluminum Driveshaft
Hooker LT's
4.30's (no hp but great for low end umph! )

Gonna try and get a tune and slicks this summer and shoot for mid 12s!

Before the LT's I ran a best of 13.10 with street tires with a horrible 2.20 60ft
Not bad for a few bolt on. [patriot]

You musta drove like you left a street light with a 1.9 60' lol, great mph for having a shit 60' and ET,money says that heavy ass vert with slicks, some weight taken outta it,and actually launching woulda ran much much faster,I went 119 with an 11.65 with a 1.7 60' in a ported/pullied Termy for comparison...Anyone can shift once you got the green but it's making that green light your bitch that counts [burnout] I'm not here saying 32v's are the best of the best and shit on all but I did prove a point to the doubters, can't argue that! Didnt see much of any debate after the facts I posted...enjoy the weekend fellas [patriot]

I was ready to debate some more, but too lazy to reply & on top of that, there is no point, because Brandon is always right!
[Wink] But as you can see by my activity on this site over the past few years, I don't live on Cafords much these days.... Have a good weekend as well, bud!

Whole different animal... One of the best Ford motors to date. & for the record I never jumped ship to any other make or model regardless of what anyone on this site thinks. I like all types of cars, I don't bleed Ford blue, I keep my mind & options open, because there are many more cars to be enjoyed other than just Ford products. Just my 2 cents.

I been on this site since 2007. I browse the For Sale section & check general talk. Anyhow, if I don't have anything to add to a thread, I don't post... This is the reason why I didn't reply yesterday, not trying to get into pissing matches about Shit I really care less about at the end of the day. But lord knows you always have to get the last word my friend, so I will expect another reply from you.

Can't anyone call me a race TRAITOR, I STILL own a Ford that is currently taking up all my money into building up an engine, but yes I own an LSX car as well, & might I add I have never installed a mod on it in the 3 years I've owned it.

But yeah, can't call me a race TRAITOR because no car company owns my loyalty & anyone who sticks to one brand & one brand only is selling themselves short!

Haha. Ok I put too much on it, I meant I didn't have the time to debate all day. It's not that serious bro. Thanks though, I just hope my block won't split, let's just say that. If there is one downside to building a SBF, we all know it's the paper thin block!

Ford don't pay my bills, sign my checks, nor do they pay my salary.... Therefore I have no reason to stick to them & them only!

No more NA build... Paxton Novi1000 at low boost, 331 stroker, 13cc dished pistons, all forged internals, stock block. Trying not to push over 450rw, but thats an easily achievable number with the combo. I think it should last a while... We shall see

N/A 32v IS SLOW before the coyote engine
that's why svt used a twinscrew on the terminators to make up for its shortcomings.
when svt built the termy they originally went N/A on the prototype and it was slower than the svt focus

lets see some nasty N/A 32v's

if its making 365 100% CA smog legal on 91 that would be something to be proud of for sure.
