My kitchen has a double sink with the garbage disposal installed under the right side of the sink. Whenever I turn it on water spits up and out the drain from the left side of the sink. Why does it do that?

Clogged up drain. Put some drain cleaner in the opposite side of the drain. Not in the disposal side.

Check your p-trap and the seals around it

clogged line....you have a clean out near by if so snake it...
