put some prayers out for my puppy please. He has been sick the last couple days, So I took him into the vet today and he is in the advanced stage of parvo. 50/50 chance he will make it. So yea....today sucks. I hope he gets better.

He is taking well to the meds and is staying hydrated. On iv and pain meds. Doc said its looking up but not 100%

My Rotweiller puppy had Parvo as well when he was a puppy, they filled him up with an IV. Poor guy looked like he had a tumor with all that fluid in his skin, but he bounced back. That was 10 years ago and he's been healthy since then. My point is, don't give up hope. He jut might make it.

I have faith he will pull thru man. Keep your head up.

I bought a dog from a member on here a few years ago and when I got him home I noticed he wasn't acting right and when I took him to the vet the next day they told me pretty much the same thing. They kept him for 3 days and had him on constant IV's but he pulled thru and is a very strong and healthy dog today.

In late 2009 my four month old puppy got parvo as well.
They wanted $1k to keep him overnight but i just had them give him the IV and then brought him to the regular vet the next few days to get more IV put in along with some meds. He pulled through just fine so I'm sure your little one will too. Best wishes for a recovery!

I am curious as to those that mentioned their dog getting parvo, OP mentioned advanced stage. I personally do not know the stages but I am assuming it could be too late? Enlighten me as I have a dog and REALLY hope this never happens. I have already had enough scares with her life.

They usually only get parvo when they are a puppy. My puppy is only 5 months old. He is an American pit bull mix. His linings are gone in his intestines and stomach. He was shitting puddles of blood. I just paid the vet $900 for 3 days of treatment that includes iv / meds / anitbiotics. They said if I don't hear from them until Thursday then he will make it through. If i get a call before Thursday ill probably have to put him down. Its almost impossible to tell the early stages until its too late. They don't really show it.

What vet are you using ?
VCA in Rancho Cordova (50/Bradshaw) has about the best care possible, while expensive they are VERY good.
Our dog is a lymphoma cancer survivor of alittle over 3 years, can't say enough good things about VCA and its staff.
Hope he pulls through.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Lil' Ratchet. I certainly hope that he will be presented with the best outcome in this terrible situation he is in. Hopefully he follows in Peak's footsteps in regards to being a stubborn little shit that refuses to die when faced with death many times!
