Those are sick swaps. I'm going to keep my LX and drop a Coyote into it.

I tried like hell to get the Coyote Stock class brought out west. NMCA was interested, but backed out a few months back. I had a few e-mail conversations with Jesse Kershaw from Ford Racing while he was working with the NMCA. Both of us were quite disappointed that it fell apart.

I have a Coyote Notch in the works that will be quite nasty!

whats a swap like this going for? is there a k member out for this swap yet or is it a lot of fab work?

I don't know the exact numbers but it's a pricey swap like $15k if you do it all yourself? I had the k-member but sold it as I need one for a 302. I don't know anything about the swap but I don't think it's much fab work they make kits for stuff like power steering a/c N all that good stuff wiring is quite pricey IMO.

like Neight said.. it's a good $15 to $18K once you get everything squared away...unless you pick up a donor car for really cheap so you have everything to swap over

You could build a nice motor for 15-18k.... Not sure if I would go coyote for that price

The motors are out there, not too bad. It can be done reasonably if your smart with your purchases.

Of course you can no doubt about that but I'd be more into this swap for the wow factor and drive-ability considering it's new technology. I hope to maybe one day throw a coyote in my hatch but for now my build will satisfy me for a while.

I think that is priced well. A used Coyote engine shouldn't be selling for more than that.

The guy who bought my 93 Cobra spent way more $18K on his coyote swap but he paid a shop to it.

I priced it out myself if I was to start from the beginning and not have a donor car...granted the bottom end I chose was setup to accept high boost but at the time I wasn't able to afford the swap AND a TT kit...so it was easier to build what I have now for a little more on top...

now that i'm stand alone..I could make the swap a lot easier and just keep a lot of turbo parts I have and stay a big single....but still would be out of pocket 6-8K doing it with me and some friends

That would be so sick, you should do it; it would be a total sleeper until you put the loud pedal down.

I think this swap is still sick but wouldn't a termi swap be better? Termi motor has more potential in stock form or no?

Not if you get a Coyote Aluminator. With the Termi swap there is a shit ton of wiring and fitting of coolers which it can be a huge PITA. All the interior has to be pulled and the front bumper. There is a lot more work involved on the Termi swap.

Posted by RRRCobraSC281 (Member # 7086) on :

A stalker front bumper from cervini will give you the space for the after cooler to mount on the steel impact beam. Will not fit behind an LX front bumper.

I'll spend my 18k on something a lot more spectacular even if it means not hearing everyone say "hey look it's a coyote motor" fap fap fap

to some guys it's not about the "wow" factor but potential for a lot more like:

- having easier bolt on power
- a lot more drivability
- newer technology
- more reliability
- etc

No Neight.....
My friend is building a 67 fastback with the full Griggs Suspension. In addition to that he's running a turbo powered coyote swap/6 speed.
So stick your head in doo doo. [Razz]

Instead of spending 18k on a coyote "swap" how bout just buy a used 2012 mustang or whatever year mustangs came with that motor and and enjoy yourself. That swap seems like ALOT of money. But to each his own....

You should have him build yours, it might actually be on the road one day. [Razz]

I'm still undecided to go boosted coyote aluminator or boosted 408. What's the max on this aluminator with power adder?

If the 408 is an aftermarket block, then I'd still lean towards the pushrod motor.

If boosted 408, DART BLOCK FTW!
