Well if you think your car is worth more than $2200 you might wanna think of getting it out...and if its not worth close to that you might as well leave it in there but they'll charge you to leave it in there too lol either way they'll get some kind of $ from ya...

Was it a 30 day inpound? If so your looking 2k for the 30 day (I think) plus the release fee here in hwd $175 or 2 but what ever it is a fucken ripoff...

Congratulations on getting your car impounded. Start saving up some cash because its going to cost you a ton of money to get your car out.

I got pulled over because he heard my x pipe and waited for to turn to the main street but i went to left back to my street then he made a u turn and when i saw that in my rear view mirror my heart just stop.
He said he impounded because of no L's, if i had L's he would give me a ticket and let me go. Also he had
a kid in a passenger think it was a Program.
But imma start selling things on CL

why are you going to smash on ur car with no insurance and no license....

Hope you learned your lesson, why would you drive without a license anyway, doesn't sound like the brightest idea. Thank god you didn't wreck and hit someone else's car.

I understand i just never drove the car since new years when i had a starter problem, found out when i took off the t5 the belt housing was from a 97, did some adjustments and sat there till middle of march decided to do a five lug and timing was off up to 800rpm to 1200rpm up and down due to my battery kept dying on me and not letting the engine for long time. Then just yesterday a new battery and now its gone but now im motivated to go get my L's and get any car with reg and insurance.

What part of sac you live in? Cops around here dont fuck around if you
Dont have a license, if its 30 day hold id let it go, if you sign the car over to the tow company they wont charge you they will just sell it. In the meantime i wouldnt even buy another car before you
you get your license

The police wont let the tow yard release your vehicle without a signed release from the police with the owner having some proof of insurance AND current registration...atleast in Elk Grove that's how they work ive don't it 2x bud shit sucks..

Hilarious yet true. In Gilroy, pd departments are scared to tow cars due to aclu breathing down their neck..... Never seen tow yards so vacant.....

Its a 88 mustang 5.0 nothing big . Never reg because of $$$$ and no pink slip but do have all the paper work.
Never had license but paid 30 bucks might just get this L's before the month ends.

True story. I was wearing Houston Astros fitted riding around with no insurance. First thing are u on probation haha. Never asked for insurance.

1. Go get your license ASAP or at least a permit, go to DMV today and get the process started.

2. No reg and insurance? Go get it registered and insured today (don't waste time -- will only help YOU later on down the road -- not us). Remember you will have to go see a judge when you appear in traffic court.

3. See if you can get it out before 30 days, go speak to sergeant at the Police Department.

4. Bad mistake on your part, take it as a lesson learned and don't do it again.

Goodluck

I don't think it will make a difference (I could be wrong).

The judge will go by the day you were pulled over: that day you didn't have the license, insurance and registration.

If you were to sell the car now, doesn't change the fact you were still pulled over with those charges prior to selling the car.

I know those chargers are not going to go away but will I get in trouble if i sell the car or its best if I wait till court and show the judge i got my licenses and got it registered and insurance then sell the car?

Sell your body so you can start working on how much these tickets are going to cost you. Are you a fucking idiot? Why would you be driving around with no license no reg or insurance. Are you trying to win the darwin awards this year?

I can't wait to see this shitty mustang at one of the wrecking yards or for sale on craigslist, lien sale.

Stop being a dick dude.. OP, it happens but you should of got your license even if you don't drive much it's important to have regardless and part of growing up. Weigh it out bro, if the costs are more than what you already have invested in it just let it go, if not then do what you have to do to pay and take it out (legally). Go get your license and insurance and register the car. You can have it on non-op if it's a project car you never drive.

Everyone makes mistakes. When I was like 20 I was working on my Mustang and just got finished and wanted to see how it would run. I had a license and the car was registered in my moms name but no insurance. I took it out around the block and the cops nabed me lol.. No blinkers, shits didn't work. I was less than a block away from my house.

I called my mom and she was pissed told her "ok ok I know". I asked her to put insurance on it right away tomorrow for me please and she did. I went to court and ended up paying $70. I had two tickets. Failure to signal and no insurance. Together like $1800 bucks!!

The signal ticket should of been a fix it ticket but the cop was being a dick. I called my local PD station (not 911) and told them. "I have a car that doesn't run but I would like to get my ticket signed since I fixed the issue".. They sent an officer to my house and he noticed the previous cop had been a dick an marked in as a non-fix it ticket. I asked him to please make a note on my ticket anyways for the judge to see and he agreed. I told the judge I was a broke college student and I was guilty and she waived the insurance ticket most likely since I acted quickly to straighten things out..

Straighten things out and go to court. Plead guilty-with an explanation and quickly make your case with the judge. Ask for a discount, your allowed to do so. Goodluck, be smarter next time

I wouldn't be so compassionate with ANYBODY who hit one of my family members with they're vehicle. Licensed or not. It was an irresponsible move but the point is to learn something. Probably a good thing the car got impounded. The lesson won't have to be learned with a lawyer by your side now at least.

The only lesson i hope he learned was to NOT come to Cafords and post the dumbest shit on your first thread ever and not expect to be told what the fuck is up. How are you 18 with no license driving around in a sports car.

Your the donkey.. haha. The kid made a bad choice but he wasn't drunk. So stop with the hit my family car drama. If he was drunk/on drugs then I would get you but he wasn't. Just because you have no license doesn't mean you don't know how to drive. Well maybe you didn't know how but a lot of us did way before we were licensed by the DMV [Big Grin] ... Now stop being dramatic [Mad] [Razz]

OP- Get your shit straight though, your making CAFORDS members feel unsafe on the road [patriot]

Keep Fu*king up, it builds character LOL. Well, the OP learned his lesson. There is nothing he can do now but try his hardest to fix this issue. Even looking back at the situation might be a waste of time.

The only time you should look back at this situation is to reflect back on what you think you did wrong, but look at it from the Law's point of view.

For example: "If I were a cop....would I pull me over for doing dumb shit and driving without this paperwork or that paperwork?".

But all in all, the OP has learned his lesson (hopefully). And then again, he is only 18, I am sure we will see many more posts similar to this from our younger members.

But for all us who are judging him, lets remember that we were all teenagers at one point in our lives. Making mistakes and hopefully learning from them, is what makes us who we are today.

And quite honestly, if there is another post similar to this from the OP, then I am sorry, but you deserve to get judged and ridiculed by the older members.

Hey bro these ppl are mostly assholes. If you ever have a question in regards to situation like these I suggest you PM some of the more mature members alot of ppl here are alot older and understand the law as well as car mechanics in general as you go on these ppl will be more obvious too. As far as the assholes don't mind them because they hide behind their keyboard, and usually haven't progressed in life which is why the most entertainment they get is being assholes to a kid. Keep your head up and learn how to deal with the law. I was in your position before but because I articulated myself and was well presented the cop let me go. Take yourself seriously so ppl take you seriously. Good luck.

Forget about the its gone you cant sell it while its in the impound...#1 priority is get your license worry about a stang later but if you do want it out your going to need
1. License/permit for registered person of the mustang
2. Registration
3. Insurance
4. Fee to pay police for Tow Release ($100-200)
5. Talk to Tow release officer plead your case for release of car ie need to go to school/work ect..
6. Money to pay Tow ($250 tow + 30-60 per day=$$$)
Now was that test drive worth it...no you would have been good hard be been driving normally but I bet you did a burnout piped it hella loud something to stick-out
