If so I'm interested in getting my 18"s done in gloss black I can strip them first if that helps a lot on price

Do you have any links to how your building the oven? Maybe a few pics of what you did.

Posted by Brock_Samson (Member # 12359) on :

Sure, when i start, probably next weekend...

From the research ive done its stainless steel studs riveted together to make the frame, cover the frame with steel sheets, and in between the dense fiberglass insulation. Essentially like this link, but with the door on the side and wider, looking to fit engine blocks. So i want to make the bottom out of a welded frame, square bar.

Got some weird out-gassing in between the 3 and the S... but its an old plate and i didn't bother to dig out the rust so that was probably it, considering i have never had something do that before. oh well still not bad considering the plate is 40+ years old.

have any pictures of any cars with valve covers that drive the car daily??

I recently used APC in citrus heights on a set of valve covers and im VERY disappointed with the quality after 6 months of driving...PC is cracking in a bunch of spots and its dole!

post pics of what it looks like after its on the car for a bit and i might be interested!

Did you build a bigger oven yet to do wheels?

Posted by RAP66 (Member # 3360) on :

Brock you still coating??

Posted by Brock_Samson (Member # 12359) on :

heyyyy, look who just realized all his pm's and notifications were going into junk mail...

i should answer in a more timely manner now..

no oven still not done, school started so i had to put that on hold ill start next month.

and no i don't have pics of my work over time, well not engine parts anyways, but my Harley wheels and parts have been doing just fine. i will usually fix any parts if they for some reason don't hold up over a reasonable time. i think heat does effect it, i know there are clears you can use for extra protection also. im not expert in this i just try to do the highest quality job "I" can do, and so far no complaints.
