Check engine light is on and I hooked up my scanner but it wont read the codes for some reason. Any one had this happen to them.

arent 95's obd1 maybe that why u cant read em ?

So I need to use a Obd1 scanner? I used the obd2 but didn't work?

That happened to my dads expedition the scanner wouldn't read the codes an it was a burned fuse. Idk if it could happened to a mustang but worth a try.

yea my 95 has a obd 2 port also and tried to pull codes for the hell of it and i couldnt..gotta use the connectors behind the passenger shock tower

They have the plug but it doesn't work....

At school, our snap on scanner can read these codes...the mustangs from 94 and 95 are still obd 1. And the plug is by the passenger side shock tower.

Yes I was talking about the one under the dash. And how does te paper clip trick work??

You have your EEC-IV connector behind your pass side strut tower. All you have to do is jump the paper clip from the "SIG RTN" to the "Self-Test In"

Make sure you connect the paper clip while the car is completely off.

 -

After you connect it, turn the key to KOEO (key on engine off) and your check engine light will flash the codes.

ie: flash-flash-flash-flash <pause> flash-flash-flash = 43

flash-flash <pause> flash = 21

Its pretty much like morse code..
