He must pay by the half hour, it didn't specify hourly pay, now it makes much more sense.

Not trying to give you a hard time but in the bay area $9.00 is just not going to cut it. This kind of money would work in the mid west or deep south but you can't pay your bills in California for that price.
I'd raise your shop price per hour to the customer and start pay at say $14.00 for the guy you want to hire. Like someone said, you could hire an ex con for that but he'd rob you a couple weeks after you hire him.
For $9.00 you'd better have a really nice shop with lots of heaters and put your worker in comfort through this cold winter.

"My car had the low pressure sign so i decided to yelp around and brought my car here. They told me they will inspect for free, and fill the air for free and let me know what else needs to be fixed. To my surprise, my car came back with series of "troubles" so the guy said. This is my 30k mile car with no history of accidents and i am the first owner. They said my air is low, but also the light came on because
" the 2 front wheels are so messed up they WILL pop on you ANYTIME!" then also something wrong with alignment etc etccc...and went on to talk about how damaged my wheels were. Then they said, "I can sell you 2 used tires for 130 bucks, but sorry they are not matching tires". Used unmatched tires....are you freals?! and he went on saying " you better change it if you dont want your tires to pop on the freeway". Of course I didn't just jump the gun and went for their deal. I searched around and asked a trust worthy mechanic in the area for a second opinion. surprise surprise, he told me what the company said was a load of S***. My wheels were fine, and they were no where near "popping" like they said. and found no problems. I mean you can try to sell me stuff, but using scare tactics that my wheels will fall off/pop on the freeway anytime.... COME ON!!!! Should have been a 1 star, but gave it one extra star for pumping air into my tires. Thanks but no thanks. SHADY!"

130 bucks for used mixmatching tires, what a iranian abortion clinic for a business.

Not saying I agree with how the owner of the dealt with the situation.. But this shit got blown waay out of proportion, could of been a decent job opportunity for a person straight out of tech school to get their feet wet. Making fun of dudes yelp reviews and shit is whatever .. But whoever put a review on yelp for dudes business about dumb ass forum shit is fucked up, it's hard enough to stay in business in this economy without dick heads writing shit on a review website.. I guess what I'm saying is now I know why most of the top shops don't want to fuck around with cafords.. Sorry guys about the rant but as a person that has worked for a couple small business's(sp?) I've seen the day to day and felt the reprocussions of phony reviews.. Who knows people could lose there jobs over this shit long run..

Tell me where I was incorrect about anything or if I misquoted this idiots response to people? I hope everybody gets fired at that shop and the IRS go through to find out how many people they have been paying in cash wages. If you had a competing business is it fair for them to have under the table workers....

Never said that anything you said was misrepresented. All I said was that its fucked up to put personal shit up there because you disagree with how he runs his business. And I'm assuming (yes ass out of you and me ) that you aren't a small business owner(I'm not either , but aspire to be one) because not all shops are at the point in there business that they can hire on a full time employee on the books (especially now with all the new regs) its not just the wages per hour the owner has to pay its the workers comp the taxes and all that other stuff. Am I saying this is the proper way to do business, no but this is the real world and sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. And I'm not trying to personally attack you I'm just saying this shit got waaay to out of hand. And even if dude did day fuck cafords big deal your talking about some people that are trying to feed their families and shit and that had nothing to do with this drama.. Once again I don't know dude or his shop at all for all I know it's a chop shop but I just saw this up here and it turned my stomach ..
