This shooting makes absolutely no sense. These shootings seem to be happening in bunches and now that we have 20+ innocent children dead. What possible motive could there be to go after elementary school kids??? The high school shootings make some kind of sense because many kids get picked on so much that they totally lose it at some point.

There is no way ANY ban on ANY type of weapon will prevent this type of tragic situation from happening. If all high capacity weapons were banned tomorrow, which will probably be the case, these events can not be stopped. Have you read the monthly NRA magazine? There are usually two decent articles about historical weapons or new toys and the rest of it is them trying to ram their politics down your throat.

I'm sure you're a normal person who enjoys it as a hobby but I see so many people at the range who have no business handling a gun and here they are with a gun that could kill a lot of people in a very short time.
