Caught this off some rocks in Half Moon Bay yesterday and have no idea what kind it is. Let it go right after we took the pictures. Anyone know what this is?

Thanks. After looking at Google Images, looks like you are right with the Cabazon fish.

Edit: Actually, maybe not. The fish I caught has horns and looks slightly different.

Looks like a bullhead... junk fish that steals your bait. An ok bait fish for Stripers (I've never had luck using them)

Looks just like a bullhead. Actually looks like a sculpin, but they call those "bull heads" too.

I heard that people sometimes use them as bait for stripers, but with the slime and the spines..no way a striper is going to take a second bite out of it to get really hooked. Best bet is to just toss it...I even tried using some caught as crab bait and the crabs would not even touch it (must be the protective slime on the fish).
