So my boy has a 98 silverado which seems to want to stay off the road constant lol but recently he was driving and heard all of the sudden as if the truck was rubbbing metal to metal in the tire area. obiosly we checked his brakes and come tof idn out he destroyed his rotor and had not bad left wat so ever that was on the left passenger side. we go the driver side and find out the pads nd rotor are fine and had little life left on them. [Confused] well it seem that his ball joints where leaking all the grease out also. so we installed everything and try to move it nd hear LOUD scraping coming from the disk as soon as he was to turn. parked it checked again and left side had a huge scar on the rotor which semt o come from the corner of the ball joint?.. now my question is, could there be something else wrong there or is that the ball joint really justt gave out, but would that really aloud it to touch the rotor?? thanks for the help [patriot]

I've pinpointed your problem, walk to the front of the truck, look at the grill and the biggest problem will be looking you in the face...... [Big Grin]
