I heard those manifolds tend to crack and the turbos are garbage. Im running a ponydown stage 2 kit , all I had to do was trim the driver side sway bar mount. Other than that it was bolt on. Try searching the ebay kits on turbomustangs.com [patriot]

Check out turbomustangs.com. The manifolds are very prone to cracking.

Had a turbo pinto come in with an eBay turbo kit on it, all the piping was alright but when I did a boost leak test on it ( had fluctuating boost problems) it was leaking out of all the bolts on the coldside housing and the wastegate actuator was leaking like crazy. It worked but it would def be worth it to buy a better turbo. But hey it's your car and if the compressor wheel comes off and gets ingested in your motor it's jus a good excuse to rebuild your motor;)

I picked up the on3 kit and everything seems pretty solid and very decent quality for the $, only thing I'm worried about is the turbo. But it is one sexy kit, can't wait to run it. [Big Grin]

Hot Rod magazine has been pieces these low-buck ebay cr-racing kits together for the last few issues. They bolted them to every make engine, they def look a little... well cheap but all made amazing power, just who knows how long it will last.

On3 is only $300 more and is not chinese made. They also come with warranty.

I have a boostbrothers kit I've yet to install BUT another member on here had a build done by turbo50 and made crazy numbers with a h/c/i 306 from dss racing I believe. Like 500+ and tuned it down to like 450/480 or something like that. Talk to turbo50.
The stock kit on a stock car allegedly makes 350+ at tires. Much more with mods. And the welds on the kits look very good.
*edit* the kit I'm talking about is 94/95 specific but just an example of what some "cheap" kits are capable of.

I've looked into these kits and have seen a few articles about it. Seems like the kits are hit and miss on the quality. Some hold up and some fuck up.

When I go the Turbo route, I'm just going to buy a good ass Turbo and build everything else. Cheaper than a expensive kit but better quality than a cheap kit. Plus if anythings fucked up, i know its my fault.

i put one of these Turbo kits on my nova a long time ago. the manifolds suck! they will crack i recommend them getting welded again and ceramic coated. the turbo didnt give me any problems at all i was runnging 15 psi all day. In the end i got it to work so good my friend wanted to trade it for his freshly rebuilt motor....so i did, not bad for a kit that run under 1,000 bucks [Big Grin] lol. i just kinda wish i still had it to race someone before we traded [Roll Eyes]

They do ok for low budget.

I dont see any difference other than the turbo from ebay, boost brothers, pony down or bg.
