Me too. [Razz] I've got a re-pop fender and it sucks.

There's a guy out in Oakdale, Harry Pulliam, that owns a Mustang junkyard. It's all '65-'73 cars and when I was there many years ago, he had LOTS of rare and hard to find parts. I'm certain he has a fender if you can't find one anywhere else.

[patriot] He's a cool dude. Last time I was there, he showed me EVERYTHING he had. Some pretty awesome cars. He used to have a twin Cleveland powered drag car. The sad thing is, he'll probably never do anthing with 90% of the stuff he has.

Too bad you weren't doing this couple years ago. My dad had a NOS fender still in the box from 67. Can't go wring with one of those! So are you going metallic red, candy red?

the lighter red looks better in my opinion

Posted by Secnd2nun64 (Member # 1431) on :

The lighter red will be more forgiving. You going white stripes still? Silver would look good with that darker red.

Posted by 166 Merlot (Member # 1549) on :

I see that ur really set on striping it again. I like the color combo but IMHO don't stripe the valences. Stop them on the hood and the deck lid, round them off so they don't look like infinity, and please don't do the roof. Jmho, I know u didn't ask for it and I'm sure u don't give a shit what anyone thinks, but I think that it would b more of a stand out paint job that way.

Shuda painted the Coug red too [Wink]

Edit: arrrgh! Fkin auto correct drives me crazy!!!

True, but I have found from paint my track bike and other motorcycles that I am not a bad painter I just cant stand to do it. The prep work is to time consuming and tedious.

Thanks... How do you like the clear coat ?

Posted by 68dustin (Member # 5388) on :

the clear lays on great like glass, but after a few days it gets some orange peel. Once you cut and buff it, the gloss comes right back. If i wanted to i could cut down more for even more of a gloss, but i dont wanna burn thru the paint (still a rookie at this)

No being a smaller area it didn't orang peel at all in the jambs.
