Hmmm 50 bucks a year for service thats more reliable, has more content, better community, etc.

Or..

A free service that is laggier, has less content, and lets not forget the security risks lol.

I mean you guys talk all this crap about paying for the online service which is less than the cost of a game. But then again I forgot this is cafords and 50 bucks is alot around here.

i own both systems, but i barely play my PS3. Even before the outage. it's basically just a Blu Ray player and occasionally worth some exclusive content like SOCOM and shit...

xbox console should of came with a slot to put coins into to play! lol

The amount of psn downtime still doesnt amount to the time of the xbox red ring of death time it takes to return your console for repair! A buddy of mine had to buy a freakin back-up console because he was gettin the ring of death so often!!!

Key word there is a year.$50 isn't shit but what about everyone who spent a couple hundred to replace the whole system.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sony started charging for PSN after this. Information systems security is not cheap, especially for a network as large as PSN. With as much time and money they've dumped into the upgrading the network and as much of a stain on their reputation this has caused, they're going to have to recoup that money from somewhere, and it's not coming from the sales of the consoles. So either look to see the cost of the games go up, or some sort of pay-to-play come.

People still bringin up the rrod.PS3 has the ylod so why is this still being brought up.

I do. Bought it in '07, got the RROD in '08 and it was repaired for free. Haven't had a problem with it since.
