Most likely the MoBo or CPU is fried.

Just take the hardrive out and get a new computer. Hook the hardrive up as the second HD and get all the info off of it on the new comp

+1 easiest fix for someone that doesnt know how to work on computers. frys has deals for like $150 for a computer....$299 for a decent one.

Cage got it right. It's old enough that it will be expensive to find individual components and or it'll be hard to find.

I'll see if we have any working video cards at work lying around that we're going to toss out. PM you if I find anything tomorrow.

Eddie I have a bunch of Dell E1705's I am gonna be selling soon. Just waiting for my Alienwares to get delivered.

Also check www.Dell.com then check http://www.notebookreview.com/dellCoupon.asp for a coupon plus I have a Dell coupon I can send you by email (you can mix coupons and offers). Then give Dell a call and see if they have something you can put with the price you come up with after trying above.

Sounds like a lot. But I buy a lot of computers and this method always save me around 500+. Just used this method to get my cousin a very nice laptop for real cheap.

Also I have a bunch of components laying around. But by the time you ride out to Stockton you could have just bought one.
