ya phone is pretty bad ass, i have the Hero its similar but the evo has bigger screen, hdmi, 8mp camera, video conference camera, blah blah blah

just look around in the app market u'll run into some cool stuff

u can set ur songs on the mp3 player as ringtone and u can edit them too

Home run battle 3d, Google sky map, Google earth, if u have an xbox get spark. Photobucket, shazam, scanner radio which is a police scanner, ringdroid is great for editing ringtones.

I got tunee music where I download free mp3 songs but I don't see it in the app store any longer. I'm glad I got it before it was removed.

I also have the Hero, but it is pretty similar. If you get brave, you can root your Evo and flash custom roms/themes/etc. I'm running a custom overclocked 2.1 rom on mine.

My favorite Apps:

Google Goggles
Google Sky Map
SoundHound (same as shazam, but better)
Pandora
Places Directory (finds stuff close to you, food, bars, etc)
Beautiful Widgets (Paid app)

Lots of other good one's, but those I use regularly.
