i might look into that. what do you do now if you dont mind me asking?

Ha ha, no, that came out wrong. When I decided to major in History, everyone thought I was planning on teaching. Never taught a day of school in my life, neither have I used my History degree in the workplace. But I majored in a subject I enjoy, and I am happy that I finished undergrad.

But my current job only requires a H.S. diploma or equivalent.

I work in Construction Management. Basically, Construction Management is the overall planning, co-ordination and control of a project from inception to completion while focusing on Project Management Planning, Cost Management, Time Management, Quality Management, Contract Administration, Safety Management, etc.

Specially I work in building concrete structures.

To the OP...I'd suggest really thinking of what you want to do and what your goals are in the future. A lot of people major in things that they "enjoy," but when it comes down to it, "enjoying" something may not really bring in the job and pay that you want to get. Do you want to sit at a desk all day? Work on computers? Work hands on? Design stuff? You should think about that before taking classes for "X" major because it would be a waste if you decide to switch majors halfway through and have to basically start over...Good luck! [patriot]

What he said. You'll also notice that quite a lot of people major in a field then end up in a career that has absolutely nothing to do with what they studied. For example, my last boss had at least a Master's in Bio Chem or something like that, but his company specializes in video conferencing technology and IT support. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

PG&E. Love the company and the money is good.

I was in the building trades (non-union) and tried to get into a couple unions just as the economy hit the toilet. Great money in the building trades, but it is feast/famine, depending upon the economy.

There are many ways to make good money, but going to college young, before you have a family, mortgage, or other responsibilites, is the best time to go. I can use my degree as a resume builder and also to climb into management positions that require a degree to be competitive for the job openings.
