I'm FINALLY closing on a house. A bunch of you know I've been house shopping for over a year and a half with terrible luck. I had pm'd one member a few weeks ago when I was in one contract but that house ended up falling through, so I waited until I was sure this time. I'm signing closing documents in a few hours and have the cost of my dart based 347 in the form of a cashiers check going to closing [Frown] ill be moved in by first week of July! Woot Woot. Now ill actually have a garage so I can tear my car apart and the best part is when its running, its a much shorter drive to the track compared to where I'm currently located!

Where you moving to bro? Congrats! We just moved into our first place last November (weekend of Thanksgiving 09) and it feels VERY GOOD when the house/condo/townhome is all done, furnished, and you're actually chillin and having a beer in your very own living room/garage/backyard [patriot]

All I can say is...making the sacrafice of selling the toys to get into a home is WELL WORTH IT! Then, when you're finally settled, you can get back into the toys/hobbies you love...thats why I'm back into another cobra [patriot]

I went a little further than I would have liked but it worked out. 3bed 2bath 1315 sqft out in Manteca. Price was right, ended up just under 160k total. Even though its further I have a company vehicle and gas card. That's the only reason I went that far. I drive all day so a few extra hours is manageable. Can't complain too much. I have a just turned 2 year old daughter, stay at home wife for now and ill officially own my own house before I turn 26.

Its a bit high but compared to its last sold and the other houses in the area it fits. We wrote at appraisal worth to edge out someone we were dueling with in a bidding war. Its in a super nice neighborhood and I've already meet most of my neighbors all of which seem to be stand up people. And the house is only 18 years old. Pretty much move in ready minus one or 2 small repairs. This is just my starter home [Smile]

congrats..always nice to know that the house you're living in is yours.
im sure price was a big selling point to live way out there but one thing to be concerned about is if your job situation ever changes you might be limited to less than idea jobs out there if you're unwilling to commute or if you choose to commute ull likely spend tons of money on transportation that could offset some of the savings of living out of the bay.
anyhoo...again congrats and im sure you're excited to move in.
