So I did a bit of detailing on the Notch last week for Knott's.

I started off by claybaring the entire car, then I used the Meguiars 3 step system which includes paint cleaner, polish, & Carnuba wax. Then I followed that up with Meguiars "ultimate" spray wax... I know its all cheap off the shelf products, but it worked well for me... I applied the paint cleaner & polish with a cheap electric buffer from Kragen, & I applied the wax by hand...

Anyhow, here are the pics....

This is how the claybar looked after doing just the top of the rear bumper, so needless to say thew car needed it BAD!!!

The car has never been this shiny in the 2 years I have owned it...

Thanks... LOL, it is A LOT of work, but for off the shelf products, the results are great. I actually don't use the small bottle of cleaner wax in the 3 step picture, but I did use everything else.

I actually didn't get the ultimate spray wax until after I saw some streaks & imperfections in my 3 step wax job in the bright sunlight. I decided to take a chance with it. Its really easy to use, but MAN it makes the car shine & it even makes white paint POP!!!

Your notch looks immaculate. I like the wheels but I just don't like the way silver/gray/titanium colored wheels look on white cars. I have the same issue with my Cobra, and can't wait to throw some black wheels on it. This is just me though.

Thanks guys. It definitely took a few days work to get it looking like this...

Mike D ... I rarely wash the car, & 99.9% of the time it sits in the garage so it will take a while for it to dull down. I plan on hitting it with a few more coats of wax as well too...

Rigo 5.0 ... I black wheels look ok with white, but I actually think Anthracite/gunmetal wheels look perfect with white...

Stanger50 ... I still thank you to this day for trading me this car...

fstryde3 ... Gray wheels help mask the brake dust LOL, & it helps that I don't daily drive the car either...

Stangboy ... I think 1 of the previous owners repainted all the trim... The car was previously owned by 3 other forum members before I had it... I wanna say Purple Notch was the one who painted the trim...

flores50*g5_0t* ... The stuff does work wonders & the car feels ultra slick now...

FoxGT ... I definitely don't enjoy detailing enough to do it on any car besides my own LOL...

Lx306hatch ... Im not too bad at detailing for an amatuer I guess. BTW, I will NEVER sell the notch LOL...
