On first thought I was going to go with N8 and stay out of this one, but...

I will add that we are already paying for health care through indigent care and other services provided to individuals without healthcare or access to healthcare...

The Elected Republicans in Washington and many around the country have continued to be the party of "NO" and in no way want President Obama to succeed. I thought it showed real class tonight [Roll Eyes] on the House Floor yelling things like "Baby Killer". Not the message the American people want to hear at least not me and I am sure I am just one of millions.

IMO, there are much more efficient ways of getting their point of view out. We will see how the election goes in November... I think the Democrats will actually benefit from passing this bill and you will see a stronger President for at least the next three years, if not for the next seven!

Many say this is not what the American people want, but if that were the case the Democrats would not hold the majority in the House and Senate as well as the White House... It's obvious the People wanted change. The people making all the nose right now are those who voted for Republicans and lost...

I can't wait to vote Fennstein, Boxer and Poloski out of office. I hope Reid gets voted out too.

EDIT: lol i am looking at the "Proud to be American" Page on Facebook and everyone is talking about voting everyone that voted yes on this bill out. Haven't found one person for it yet lol

The taxes will fall heaviest on upper-income taxpayers, according to an analysis by Deloitte Tax. It found that single taxpayers earning $250,000 a year would pay $450 more in Medicare payroll taxes, for instance. Those earning $500,000 would pay $2,700 more, while those earning $1 million would pay $7,200 more. Those with income of $5 million would pay $43,200 more.

I didn't hear anyone crying when Bush decided to commit us to Iraq for the forcible future along with trillions of dollars or leave a huge deficit for which our children's children will be paying for.

A deficit that is just getting bigger and bigger with Obama, hes not even trying to stop its growth. Wonder where he'll spend the next trillion dollars.

I agree with this 100% [patriot] funny how Republicans didn't get much say in writing the bill....... There were ways to write this bill that would have worked better for tax paying Americans....
I'm not for paying for Abortions. If you wanna have sex and ge knocked up, you find a way to pay for it.

I was for a few of the things in the bill. I'm upset that there wasn't any type of Tort Reform in the bill ( it's basically to cut down on false insurance claims. If you file a fake suit and are found guilt you can be held acountable. ) most lawyers hate

Are you suggesting that Californians are not hard working or Unamerican? [Confused]

I can tell you that I come from a very hard working middle class family... In fact, my dad is a truck driver for Rayles and I am in law enforcement... I pay taxes just like you and everyone else. And if in fact, this bill does raise taxes than I am willing sacrifice a Starbucks Venti Carmel Frappachino each week so that 31-32 MILLION more Americans can have access to health care

I to am not happy with how Congress is going about their business... Healthcare reform should have been done long ago. Both Parties have attempted for a long time and it's a shame it took this long.

Again, I will mention that we are already paying for people's lack of access to health care through indigent care and other services provided due to a lack of access to affordable, quality healthcare.

[Roll Eyes] The Republicans had all the say in the world. There were numerous chances and forums to vent their frustration with the policy, but they didn't have reform in their hearts... their hearts are were in the pocket books of lobbyist and being the party of "No". The Democrats were willing to compromise and made many changes that Republicans suggested.

I agree that health reform is MUCH needed, but not in this manner.

I will state I do not like socialist saftey net programs as they are overly abused most of the time.

Considering we already pay for it, I don't see the difference. In fact, this will lower the deficit in the long run.

Furthermore, I was giving an example where I could go without and still survive... skipping that one Frappachino adds up to about $260.00 a year... so maybe I will skip two or maybe even three, but considering that as a deputy I will never come close to $250,000 year my life style will not impacted by this.

No the Senate already approved for it so it goes directly to the President who has already signed it

The House passed three bills today. The first was on the Senate version that was passed in December before Ted Kennedy died with 60 votes... The second was the reconciled bill that will now go back to the Senate to be voted on. If the Senate adds anything or amends the reconciled bill then it will have to go back to the House to be voted on...

The President will sign the first "Senate" version on Tuesday or Wednesday from what I understand and that will be the law of the land until the Senate passes the reconciled bill

Its not just the lazy people that arent capable of receiving healthcare. You are directing this whole thing at the citizens that basically dont give a f**k about their lives. Well what about me and my families lives? Both of my parents are hard working middle class citizens that both work 40+ hour weeks. My dad's in sales and he's been warned that he may lose his job if production doesn't go up. Well its hard for more production when the economy is down. Luckly for us, my dad has benifits through his company. If he were to lose his job, what would we do? My dad has dangerously high blood pressure where it was at one point 200/120. If we lost our insurance, its very possible for my dad to get a heart attack. He is taking medicine for his blood pressure and he has to take it for the rest of his life. You needa think outside the box and stop blaming the low class citizens for the new plan and realize that this will more than likely benifit the people that deserve it the most.

Just one question tho..............am I supposed to be responsible for your family?
Is the 16 year old kid on his first job supposed to be responsible for your family, tones of us are hard workers and you think we don't have problems?
I'm starting to wonder if we would be Better off with individual state governments , because united were crashing!
Tell your dad I'm gonna contribute to your health fund, but he's gonna have to cough up some fedy for my public utilities bill........its only fair right?

I was not saying that nobody else has any problems. I was simply stating that this plan may be worth it. 2tone was implying that he didn't want to pay for lazy people that simply dont do anything with their lives. I was stating that there are decent hard working Americans that deserve more than what they have even if it does cost a few more dollars. I'm almost 20 years old, I go to school full time, work part time and I only make $600 a month after I pay my rent to my mom. Im willing to give up some of my paycheck for that simply because I've seen my family go through a huge struggle due to medical bills when my dad had a 50/50 chance of living or dying. Its a long story that I'm not going to get into, but my mom was left with all of the med bills, mortgage, house payment, utilities, etc. It really messed us up and my parents almost lost our house that they worked so hard to get. If there were nationwide health care, we wouldn't have been so deep down in the hole. Dont just think about the low lifes you'd be helping, also think about the hard working people you'd be helping as well.

I suppose you don't want a police force/ sheriff's department, fire department, corrections, emt, post office or any other government agency... hell why not get rid of the military why we are at. I mean we wouldn't want you paying towards that as well...

These infrastructures benefit everyone, not just one individual.

I suppose you don't want a police force/ sheriff's department, fire department, corrections, emt, post office or any other government agency... hell why not get rid of the military why we are at. I mean we wouldn't want you paying towards that as well...

These infrastructures benefit everyone, not just one individual.

wow this coming from a cop, you know better than any of us pieces of shit non cop punks that pay for your services wont ever see your face if my house got robbed today, but god forbid i run a stop sign!
your mumbo jumbo jibberish is just that, i never said get rid of government! it sure would be an eye opener if we could pick the government (state) we lived under............those republican states would sure fill up fast when people started realizing whats really wrong with democratic mind sets!

Exactly my point. The whole situation with the preexisting conditions, if my dad were to be dropped from his current medical insurance, the next insurance company can deny him because of his high blood pressure which is total [BS flag] ..Luckly thats not the case now. I feel a little better though knowing that it passed. As much as I hate paying higher taxes, I really dont care about this increase because I know it will be helping many other people that are in the same situation as me and my family was.
Thanks for your input, I'm glad I wasn't the only person here that agreed to the healthcare plan lol

you better educate your self bud!

I was just trying to figure out what your stand is or if you were suggesting that government should be privatized... When you pay taxes you are paying for government services like police and fire. From your post, I got the impression that my problems are my problems and that if I need police or fire I shouldn't call 911 because someone else is paying the bill...

Republican and former Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney successfully got "Romney Care" a single payer health care system (socialized medicine) passed and going in Massachusetts and from my understanding Chowderheads love their health care and it didn't bankrupt the system...

In 2006 and 2008, the single payer system was passed by the legislature, but both times Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed that measure.

for those that didn't catch the chowderhead reference, I am a proud Yankees fan [Big Grin]

Your opinion that I am ignorant because of my age is meritless. We obviously have different views on the health care reform and I can respect that. I have no problem debating those differences. However, belittling me because of my age does not help substantiate your claims.

I never claimed to know everything or be headstrong...

Let's be honest, that youtube clip you posted is worse than a Michale Moore film.

[worship] Its all about making money for the "broke" cities now, catching a criminal that robbed your house will only cost the city more money so they just sit around and come up with new ways to take money from us. Its ironic, we pay taxes to pay salaries to people that all work to figure out ways to take more money from us because other people we pay taxes to fucked up and put the country in the fucked position its in.

Fact:

1. Taxpayers are going to lose a lot of money, as individual states are going to sue over the constitutionality of this bill.

Passed or not, the taxpayer gets it right in the ass in the end.

correct! not only is he wrong but i bet he doesn't know that, states that have already passed reform bills like this will not get compensation like the states that didn't.

In 2006 and 2008, the single payer system was passed by the legislature, but both times Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed that measure.

for those that didn't catch the chowderhead reference, I am a proud Yankees fan [Big Grin]

start off Schwarzenegger is the worst example of a republican ever!
second i dont want to bring your age in to it again but i have no idea how you got "that my problems are my problems and that if I need police or fire I shouldn't call 911 because someone else is paying the bill" from me saying that each state should answer to there own government, age seems the only answer to me.
third Romney Care hurt Massachusetts and the government no longer helps them........lets just say they had an individual state government tho..............
i like you and i think you want to be a thinker and understand but you might need a little help from some one that has a little age in the game! this is the only reason why i brought up your age it wasn't a jab, it was mearly knowledge having been that age at one time.

Why do people believe if you SPEND a trillion dollars that your going to save money in the long run.....

If I spend 100k on making my house green and pay for it with credit, how long would it take to save money? It's like people who own a bucket that gets 22mpg that you own outright. Selling your car to make payments on a new hybrid:confused:
how are you saving when you have higher insurance, monthly payment ?

Here's where I think the plan fails: If I have to buy insurance to drive a car, that's fine. I don't have to drive. I can walk, ride a bike, take the bus, whatever.
If I have to pay an airport tax to help defray the costs of the TSA, that's fine, too. I don't have to get on an airplane. I can walk, ride a bike, take the bus, whatever.
This bill says that I have to purchase health insurance. I don't have to drive or fly, but I do have to live, so that that seems to be a government seizure forbidden by the Fourth Amendment.

You're point is somewhat logical. But where you fail is you don't choose to get cancer, lupis, or some other disease/injury that cannot be cleared up with "walking it off". With no fault of your own you could end up with some pretty hefty bills paid for by all of us.

I am NOT saying this health care bill is the answer.

Really though... Who needs health care? Does every one really need it? People from the ages of 18-30 or so NEVER go to the doctor and there the ones who are goin to be paying for it. Also if I dont want health care why should it be forced down my throat and ripped out my pocket. Most people say they cant afford health care but the reality for most is they would rather spend there money on Tv's, Ipods, Computers, rims, and etc. Problem is people cant manage there own money so they give the govermentthe power to allocate there money, so they dont have to worry. Me and every one else shouldnt have to pay for people who just choose not to spend there money right.

Im am of that age demagraphic but I never have gone to the hospital and if i have to i can pay out of pocket, also if i wanted to have health care its cheap for me to do so.... But problem is I dont want it, so i shouldnt be forced to pay for it and neither should any one else be forced to pay for me to have it. Just cause other people who choose to take in dangerous activities have accidents doesnt mean i should have to pay for there mistakes also.

The problem with national health care and other government run program's is they let people to abuse them.

If you give people free health care, here not going to buy it or opt for it at their job!!!

I believe in tough love, I don't mind helping people out who are on hard times. But when your on section 8, welfair and other state a government funded program's don't let me see you driving a caddy, 2000 dollar plasma tv, hella DVDs , expensive hand bags and jordans.

Its ironic, we pay taxes to pay salaries to people that all work to figure out ways to take more money from us because other people we pay taxes to fucked up and put the country in the fucked position its in.
+1.

People don't understand that this "health care reform" is just another ruse to trick taxpayers out of more money.

The DMV and postal service are just two examples of how efficient our government public services are run.

If you get hurt because of a fight, dirt bike injury, whatever, then you should be held accountable. I had an injury years back, and I was angry at the time when I had to fork out money for the bill. But now that I look back on it, why the hell should someone else pay for my screw up? Get a job that has health insurance, grow up, and take on some responsibility! If you're going to do adrenaline filled sports that have a great deal of risk, that is your choice.

Daaaaam, imagine having to pay 40k+ for taxes, well I guess if you're making 5 mill a year its pocket change for you...

Don't worry guys ...republicans found a loop hole..they are going to re vote...I highly doubt it will pass this time..democrats I guess were getting death threats ,that might have something to do with them switching there vote...I had a feeling this bill was rushed and passed way to fast ,not much thinking about the consequences ..let's hope for the best
