I am sure its a matter of opinion. I was told to get pioneers cause they are clear and not tinny sounding. What do you guys suggest? Its getting close to that time to buy them for the FB

I like to listen to rock mostly but I do like old school rap that hits. I already have my amp and sub picked out, just curious what midrange speakers people use

My two cents are go with pioneers if your going with twoway speakers cuz they will sound just as good if your going twoway if your going component stlye then their are better choices of brands to look for , like Bostons or Polk or ADS or
Alpine or Kenwood or JL on and on and on it's just how radical do you wanna go and remember the more you spend will make it sound great but will all be outdated in a few months and won't be worth crap, just my two cents

alpine type x is my favorite, but can run a lot. however the type R will be amazing quality for reasonable price

For rock music you want detail, emphasis on mids and highs, and a full but not bassy base. I would suggest some MB Quarts, it was made for this type of music. With old school rap, all you need to listen is the vocals and the sub will do the rest.

No matter what I'd do 6.5" component speakers, your doing a whole custom car so you can install these anywhere. MB Quart, Alpine, Focal, Rainbow or Infinity all make great speakers that will sound good. I've seen some really high end Pioneer component sets that sounded good but they cost more than other sets that sound better. Stay away from any of the ones that were good "back in the day" because they were all bought out by crappy companies that just wanted the name. Lanzar, Orion and Soundstream were all good names but are all Chinese crap. Oh yeah, get some good ones and put a lot of power to em...... your gonna need it with that monster 532!

+1 on the MB's .... I also love the jl audio components along with there subs and amps. [Smile]
I'm planing on running JL 6.5 components , W7 10 or 12 and 2 JL amps in the stang
