Hey guys,

Just bought my first handgun, pretty excited. Haven't yet fired it, but definitely looking forward to it. It's a .40 Sig P229 with night sights, looking forward to your comments. The color combo is definitely unique, and I waited a long time to find exactly what I was looking for.

I was sold on the Springfield XD, but my dad did the right thing and talked me out of it. He's a 1911-guy, former sniper, etc so the polymer frame didn't really do it for him. Glad I took the advice and got a Sig!

Post up what you guys have [patriot]

Congrats on the first gun! [patriot]

Although I don't follow you with your dad making the right decision to talk you out of a polymer framed gun.... [Confused]

If anything I would say the xd is closer to a 1911 than what you purchased.

Nothing wrong with polymer framed guns at all, they've proved themselves through the years...

Sounds good to me, give me a couple weeks to heal up. I usually go on Sundays but have been shooting my 10/22 a lot more lately!!! Cheap to shoot.

I just bought a Sig P238 w/night sights and another AR15 upper w/extras. A package deal presented itself that I just could not pass up [Big Grin]

I am going to buy another lower, for my new upper. With prices leveling out, this will be a complete rifle built for a tad over $600!!! [Wink]

Nice man, i am going to convert my AR into an M4 clone and take the big scope off it and put an aimpoint on it. I don't need it for long distance anymore now that i have the 308.

Gotta love Sigs! I got a P226 and when I was shopping around I shot the Glock and XD all in .40 cal and nothing shot as smooth as the Sig. Definitely a great choice!

I just picked up a Mossberg shotty that I need to let off some rounds with soon!

If it was one of the all white cars with busted out back windows, rear smashed up, and wood chunks in the bumper, that's it. only had 50k miles

HAHA!! No I haven't seen it, but with an intro like that, I'm gonna go rent it this weekend. Thanks for the compliments.

You guys have some nice-looking guns, that's for sure. CALIFORNIAGT my dad bought a Sig GSR like yours about a year ago I believe and really likes it, but he's really taking a good look at the P226 X5 Competition model, but they're asking ~$2500 or so - pretty pricey, but it puts three rounds in a 1" group at 25 yards.

I was torn between the XD and "everything else"; I went with the Sig because I figured I'm spending x amount of money, why not just add a bit more and get the gun that feels 100% perfect in the hand. Nothing against polymer-framed guns, but for my taste they just don't feel as good in the hand.

Post more if you've got them!

Yeah kinda, but I don't think anybody will be trying to read when its pointed at them. [Big Grin] . The only reason it says that is because there is no safety.

ahhh yes, no saftey, the only type of gun worth owning. I think safety's are for retards. If you need a safety, then you shouldn't be owning a gun.

I'm just teasing anyway. It's a tool, and as long as it does its job, that's what matters [patriot]

Aparantly Snakebit didn't read them because in his pics he has one with his finger on the trigger and another with the gun pointed at the camera....
