Its only salvage if you make a claim on your insurance and they deem it totaled.

If the damage is beyond the value of the vehicle it is deemed "Theft Recovery Salvage" titled.

Then your $300 car is actually worth $300! [Embarrassed]

Unless you have full coverage, claim it as a loss via your insurance, and elect to fix the car under your policy AND they say it's not worth fixing...THAT'S when it will be branded "Salvage".

Since you only have liability coverage only, you have no claim, wont be collecting anything for damages, therefore it wont affect the title status one bit.

Cliff note: YOUR GOOD! [Big Grin]

Man I am glad you got it back. And with only liability coverage you cannot claim anything so your good. But they would salvage that bish in a heartbeat if it were the other way.

Side note:
My son was leaning towards a fox instead of the cobra I bought him. But screw that, I am gonna have him avoid foxes at all cost. Shame too, he really wants one now.

NOT!!!!!! I had liability with comprehensive coverage added to it. And when my 93 gt/cobra clone was stolen, I got damn near 6 grand for it. So about it being salvaged... I dont know, that depends on the damage. But check your policy, and if you have libility with comprehensive coverage added to it, then you can claim it and get some money. That's how it went down with my insurance

They will not brand it as salvage if you do not have a claim. The above post was deemed salvage since there was a comprehensive claim and a loss was paid out.
