im putting a JLw3 in my car and I was wondering what is a good company to go with for the box. Or are they all pretty much the same.

This is opening a can of worms for sure...First off what generation w3? What size? Ported, sealed? I dont like anything less then 3/4 inch for wood. If its a heavy sub like a w7 etc i like double front thickness.

also what type of car? what type of amp? alot of variables?

How handy are you? you can build your own and the specs are on JLs website. I've built many not that hard at all.

Also reflex boxes are getting fairly popular as well.

here is a link to the specs. I found a jl box for about $100 on ebay but I know I can build a box for cheaper. What is a good type of wood?

all the wood on ebay and 99% of the boxes out there are particle board. This is fine for automotive enviroments.

Depends if its a speced out JL w8 box and you are not looking for anything custom then $100 dollars is not bad. It really comes down to what is your time is worth.
